I don't understand the need for an i7. I must be in the minority but I would prefer an i3 and better battery life. Nice looking device though.

It's only 4GB max. That rules that out for me.

I hate when manufactures list conflicting specs for products. The main page says up to 4GB, but the specs PDF says up to 8GB.

Intel CPUs have had SpeedStep for the longest time, they only run at max clock when pushed, otherwise they all pretty much idle at the same frequency. In fact, if a system has a set amount of work to do, a faster clocked system will finish faster and should have better battery life (however if a system has enough work to drain a full battery, it will drain faster instead). It's the HUGS concept (Hurry Up and Go to Sleep) which modern mobile CPUs are built around, which is why TurboBoost is a good thing even when on battery, as long as thermal limits allow.

That actually isn't true for the Ivy Bridge generation. Reviews I've seen show Core i7 systems offer slightly less battery life than Core i5, while Sandy Bridge generation showed gains in favor of the Core i7. We'll have to see how Haswell fares.

I got mine a month ago. I'm just glad I have an external monitor to use with it. The wide screen on the Helix is too short for me.

I've had my eye on it, but it's just so expensive. I could really use a new laptop, but also would like the tablet with digitizer for some situations. Part of me thinks I should just get a touchscreen laptop and not worry about the pen. I don't REALLY need a tablet, but a touchscreen at a minimum to make windows 8 better to navigate.

After using the pen on my Ativ tablet I could NEVER go back to not having one. Using the pen with one note is perfect.

I'm impressed. I wouldn't upgrade my desktop for this, but I sure what this in my laptop or tablet.

Where have you seen 50% battery life? Everything I've seen has pointed to 20% at best.

Obviously battery life is the biggest improvement here with the new MacBook Air. Thanks to Haswell's platform power optimizations, Apple claims up to 12 hours on a single charge for the 2013 13-inch MacBook Air. Given the improvements I saw in our Haswell ULT review, I don't doubt that we could see some very good numbers out of these notebooks.

No, very tempting though.

Depending on what applications you run, be aware that it can get hot on the upper right corner of the display/tablet. It's a very fast tablet with an i7 and not a very strong fan.
