5For full compatibility with the LifeLine SSD Cache feature, the px network storage device must be running LifeLine version 4.1.102 or above.
IMPORTANT: All disks within a single storage pool must meet the following requirements:
  • Same manufacturer
  • Same rotational speed
  • Same capacity
Mixed disk configurations may result in unpredictable device behavior and will not be supported. If you need technical assistance, please be prepared to backup your data and remove any unsupported drives or configurations.

I want to ask a question that is not very relevant. In the list is a hard disk with st2000nm0033 firmware lv40. I found that it may have a new lv50 firmware. Where can I get the firmware update program? thank you.

Rabbit hole I would not go down, but you could check with manufacturer. I've never seen a firmware release for a HD released to an end user, but that could just be me.

It happens, I had a Seagate 500GB drive with bad firmware that required an update. The onboard firmware would corrupt, leaving the drive unbootable and your data inaccessible. I had a drive sit dead on a shelf for a couple of years before I brought it back to life with HyperTerminal and a USB-to-TTL serial cable, recovered my data, and then applied Seagate's firmware update to make the drive safe for daily use. This won't help thinkwalk with his question, but here's a link to that particular firmware update: https://www.seagate.com/support/kb/...t3750330as-st3750630as-st31000340as-207951en/

I pulled out a second supposedly ix2-dl from the 10-lot that I purchased from PM, it too was an Iomega StorCenter DL, and not the Lenovo one that I supposedly purchased. Just like the first one, it was a refurb. No, it didn't work either.

I plugged it in, first with a fresh 4TB Toshiba 3.5" X300 HDD into the HDD1 slot, powered it on, got a white light, then it turned to red. Never saw it on the LAN.

Tried plugging in the other X300 into HDD1 (that had already been in an ix2-dl/StorCenter), plugged this HDD into HDD2, still got red light.

Tried to force power-off, couldn't. Tried to reset using recessed button, no effect. Tried holding in Reset when plugging in power, no effect.

Note that mine turns on when power is plugged in, I don't have to hit the power button. Not sure if that's the default config, or if this refurb unit was previously configured.

I *think* the red light after the white light after boot, means that it's not getting an IP address, but I can't figure out why it isn't.

Sounds like it might be doa. I'd try the x300 that has already has the lenovo firmware in hdd1. Otherwise, because it's a DL unit, it should have the firmware built-in for a new drive so you can format it and use it.

Some updates on mine, it seems that lately it's needing a reboot about every month or so because it's in a hot room. I'm going to try moving it to a cooler place and see if that solves the issue. But so far I've had to reboot it twice after it just locks up hard after a month of working.

I have two IX2, two PX4, and I am thinking about one more PX4, since I loaded my first two up with drives and data, and lost the urge to tinker on them getting Linux etc running. Also considering jumping to a PX12, maybe even a 450R instead of 400R. Part of my motivation are the cheaper prices on 6 and 8TB drives, and desire for loss of two drives reliability.

One IX2 has 2x1TB drives, currently powered off and unplugged.
Second IX2 has 2x3TB WD Red in JBOD, and has been up 24/7 since about 2014.
One PX4-400 has 4x4TB in JBOD, Second PX4-400 has 4x6TB in Raid something, ok to lose one drive.

Anybody sick of their PX4-400, let me know.

BTW https://www.centrix-intl.com/ and https://www.parallelminer.com/ continue to have interesting items from time to time.

I've never tried to get transmission working. I have a seed box to do my torrent heavy lifting.

How is it not working, what specifically does or does not happen?

Consider some "generic" fixes, restart, disable/enable etc. Check all the addresses pw etc, try a different target, tracker, or whatever.
