I ended up calling Lenovo sales about the specs on their laptops, and the man I spoke with stated that the feature list was incorrect (at least for the red model I was asking about), and they'd be updating the list tomorrow. People who currently have orders will supposedly be contacted by Lenovo to either cancel or confirm their order.

Sigh.

If it really had X4500 and external optical I would be all over this.

Why does the Red one show a CD/DVD drive while the others say N/A??

Edit: Seems like they rushed this to the sales site a bit soon with so many typo's. Probably trying to get it out before Dell does theirs on Friday.

I actually saw this in person. I happened to have gone to the IDF today to learn about vpro, and the guy at the lenovo booth also said that not all of them come with bluetooth.

He also said taht after the huge initial rush of orders that its like a 1 month backlog now.

I do have to say that build quality wise it was very nice. better than the Eee. I also played with an atom pc that was some sort of convertible tablet by gigabyte and I can say that the lenovo felt and looked I dont kno wmuch more well built I guess.

THere were tons of mids and umpcs there. This was probably one of the more "solid" looking ones of all the atom machines.

I think this is one of the netbook that's easier to live with judging by the screen size and LED backlit. However I am calling bullshit of the so call "advance thermal thingy" seeing that no laptop can claim they are good in thermal as long as there's a vent at the bottom, unless they make very, very little heat...

says shipping after 4 weeks on the website now... sucks =(

the pics of it taken apart show that it has a real heatpipe and not just a bunch of heatspreaders like the msi wind.

so maybe it isa little better.

Lenovo e-mail regarding graphics card:

"Dear Valued Lenovo Customer,

We are contacting you with regard to your recent Lenovo IdeaPad S10 order.

Please note that we recently experienced a web error which caused the Graphics Card of your S10 to be listed erroneously. The correct
card that is configured into the unit is the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950. Unfortunately, we are unable to honor the original
component, as it is not available for the system you ordered.

For more information on the Graphics Card and a technical comparison, please visit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_GMA#GMA_950.

If you are not satisfied with updated configuration, please reply to this e-mail with your current Order Number and your cancellation request.
We will cancel your order at that time.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, and appreciate your business.

Sincerely,
Lenovo Customer Service

What did you order?

I ordered the red one on 08/19 around 8PM EST and est. ship date is 09/16.

Considering the graphics card/DVD snafu, I hope a lot of people will cancel - so I get it sooner

That's disappointing. Thanks for the information. Still a decent machine but now I'll pass.

I ordered the black and was given an estimated date of 09/23.

I see Best Buy is having the Acer One for $349 starting Sunday: Windows XP, 1GB RAM (DDR2), 120GB HDD See this thread.

That's actually a pretty decent deal, if I hadn't just burned up my $50 gift card on Mario Kart I definitely would've grabbed one.

I dislike the Mouse button locations on the track pad.. sides?? who does that..

Screen size didnt do it for me, but the acer did have winxp in it.. so thats a bonus

yeah the trackpad buttons on the sides is weird. i was playing with my friends 2133 and you get used to it, but it does force you to use 2 hands to mouse around.

the acer from what i've seen online and in person doesnt feel as "solid" as the lenovo (and well i saw the lenovo in person the other day).

it also has a smaller screen, but its cheaper and comes with more ram and hdd. no express card though which is somewhat useful. i wish these came stock with a 6 cell battery though. hell honestly the weight for me is not even that big a deal, i'd pay more for one that had this same form factor and say an 8 cell (say an acer one with 8 cell battery for 3.2 pounds....)

wow thanks all, good find. I actually like the Acer One better because it resembles the HP 2133. I think it is more narrow so it makes a smaller footprint, easier to fit into places.
