I'm sure that what will be released later will be better, but not significantly.

according to the user manual there are versions with bluetooth
if this thing doesn't have bluetooth i'm going to return it and eat the restocking fee

if this thing is like the pictures of the samsung nc20 i saw, there wont be an open ram slot.
it will be filled with a 1gb chip, replace it with a 2gb one if you want.

I don't think they allow netbooks in prison bernard.

The GF has had her Atom based S12 for a couple weeks now, so I can answer a few questions:

Yes it has an open DIMM slot. The user's manual states this too but I just dropped an extra 1 GB and was good to go.

No, it doesn't have a trackpoint.

There is NOT any BT which is lame. Picked up one of the micro USB adapters for her, & while it works OK I would have much preferred internal.

I'm seriously thinking about selling my m1530 and picking up one of these... The only thing holding me back is being unsure of playback, since my only two uses really will be NEFing on AT and watching movies as I sit in hotels. I don't care about any acceleration, I just want to be sure before I buy something that it will playback my movies well enough...

Hey does anyone have any reviews of this or at least the chipset? My friend is looking for a netbook and I advised him to pick up the Acer Aspire with the atom 270. This seems to be better according to you guys for the same price. How much faster is this then the atom 270 or 280. Also does anyone know for sure if this one has an open memory slot.

yeah but i wanted a netbook to take with me...i dunno know if i should bother ordering this. i could get the samsung nc20 but its 500 bucks.

if you have a best buy nearby i'd probably just get the gateway AMD one. Figuring at least you for sure would get it on time. I ordered the s10 from lenovo last year and it was delayed forever when it first came out, though maybe they actually have these in stock who knows. Has anyone ordered this and gotten an ETA?

i think the amd cpu isa lot faster than an atom. its a 1.2 ghz athlon 64. I know some review sites did benchmarks of the athlon 2000+ 8W vs atom which is a 1ghz athlon 64 and the 2000+ killed the atom.
