considering this has the vx800 chipset in it which has h264/vc-1 decode, it actaully can play blu-ray. lenovo's site is not very clear on whether it has hdmi or not. if it did it makes it that much hotter. the normal S12 specs say no hdmi but they are for the atom version...

I think the c7 and cn896 chipset in say the hp 2133 have a pretty bad rep, but the vx800 and nano are completely different and probably way faster. no 3d gaming on this though, i think the S12 ion will be the first WoWable netbook other than the new AMD 1.2 690E one from gateway.

Ahh... I wish I could spare $400 right now. This thing wipes the floor with Atom and its accompanied wanna-be-graphics-card. Very nice deal.

Yeah I agree.

Personally I'd rather have this than the ion one when it comes out , as much as I'd like hdmi out.

The idle power on the nano is actaully less than the atom, and its way way faster at load if you need it. Plus the ion version will cost over $499.... i'm thinking ion might be dead just for the fact that it costs too much. The nano + ion at the end of the yaer I think will be the chip to get.

there are a lot of reviews of the samsung nc20 which has the same chipset and cpu. its is a lot faster than the atom anyway.

some sites have done comparisons between the atom and nano itx boards, but a lo tof the nano boards used the older cn896 of cn700 chipsets (which dont have hd decoding) so it might not be quite accurate to how the nano s12 would perform.

bing.com offers 8% cash back through lenovo, but whether that's compatible with the EPP purchase I have no idea.

Does anybody know of any gaming performance reviews for this or the NC20?

I'm curious how it does on older 3D games. Something like the Warcraft III or Half life 2, Maybe older? Would it even be able to render this stuff?

I remember back in high school trying to play the orginal Half Life in software mode on my AMD K2 300. Hopefully I can at least do that

Half Life 2 and Warcraft 3 and older play fine... Basically anything DX9 or before is great... Crysis and newer won't run on this netbook... This laptop is for the basics plus light gaming... It is not a gaming notebook, but is a definite step up from an Atom netbook...

Curious, if you don't need to play games, which is faster and which one runs cooler, atom or nano?

Where can I look to confirm that this has the internal bluetooth and etc?

If this has an open dimm I'm sure another 1gb in there and it should run vista fine, right?

I decided to steal one of these things.
I have been waiting for a long time for one of these 12" netbooks with decent resolution.

I was going to wait until the end of the year to get the Atom + Ion configuration that is going to be coming out.
But, by some reviews, even an Atom 330 + Ion still stutters with HD flash http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813500027
This netbook definitely will.

I'm sure that what will be released later will be better, but not significantly.

according to the user manual there are versions with bluetooth
if this thing doesn't have bluetooth i'm going to return it and eat the restocking fee

if this thing is like the pictures of the samsung nc20 i saw, there wont be an open ram slot.
it will be filled with a 1gb chip, replace it with a 2gb one if you want.
