We have one. Hate it, don't buy this. Keys are not backlit. Signal reception is an issue as little as 8 feet a way with the USB receiver in the front of the HTPC (line of sight).
You can't look at the keyboard and look at the screen at the same time. This makes dealing with the signal reception drops extremely frustrating, especially when typing, and especially when it's a password. "Which key are you on? Which key did it fail to detect? Hope it's the one you just pressed. Woops, wrong password, guess it was one of the 7 keys before it."

I had one that I got rid of. It is most useful if you mostly just move the pointer around and click on stuff. If you have to much typing, forget it.

I use one of these in each of my htpcs. I have a dinovo in in the media room i use if i need to type.
These are good for real basic use like starting a movie or changing the channel

I have a different model version and the connection is a little wonky. It seems to require a line of sight to the USB adapter even though it says it's wifi. The one I have has a small touchpad thing instead of ball, but also has a backlight. Not great but it does the job of htpc controlling from the couch which is what I needed.

Yeah I did. I want to say I got it for around $30 as a refurb from Lenovo. They go on sale a lot it seems as they pop up at slickdeals a lot.
