Lenovo thinkpad with Mac OS!!!!

Hey guys!!!

I have a Mac and a lenovo.
And I'm about to sell the Mac to my brother.

My question is that if can I install to the lenovo the Mac os leopard DVD that came with the Mac?????

Is that possible?

Can you use the DVD? No. Full retail only + Hacks.

Oh I only have the original DVD but I don't have the hack thing.
And if it is illegal then I'm not doing it because I don't want to get in trouble.

Apple would have to find out some way because it's their OS X license that you're violating and then I think the most they would do is terminate the license. The chances of you getting caught are virtually nil, however the real problem comes in updating the system. Every update from Apple can potentially render the system unusable since it may undo whatever hack you used to get it working in the first place.

The problem isn't really getting caught, the teechnical problem is getting it to work and keeping it that way and the moral problem is that you're violating the license and technically using the software illegally.

Hmm, I have the opposite problem, I want a sexy aluminum MacBook Pro running Ubuntu Linux, with a real keyboard (print screen, home, end, etc. keys) and most importantly a TrackPoint with the scroll button (part of IBM's UltraNav). I cannot use touch-pads and keyboards that lack the standard PC keys that are useful for text-entry.

IIRC, it violates the TOS to run the software on a non-mac. Not sure if it is really illegal if you buy the software, but it surely breaks the TOS if you install it on non-Apple hardware.

I would think that Apple would have bigger fish to fry than one person violating the TOS by installing OSX on a non-Apple machine.

The real problem is that it's an unsupported scenario (no turning to Apple for support when things go wrong) and whether you have moral issues about violating Apple's TOS.
