Leopold FC700R and blank keys?

I'm about to buy a Leopold FC700R from a local reseller, and they also sell blank key caps. The blank key caps are pictured on an FC500R keyboard... I'm a bit worried they are incompatible?

The only difference I can see is the FC700R has in-key LED's for caps lock/scroll lock. I always remap caps lock to control anyway, and scroll lock doesn't exist on Mac OS X, so I have no problem with loosing the lights.

But how are they connected? Will the blank keys fit at all on the newer Leopold keyboard? Having an entire keyboard blank, except for the caps lock key which doesn't even map to caps lock would be pretty stupid, especially since I'm spending $19 on the mod.
