In Oklahoma any sexual position other than missionary is illegal.
In South Carolina it's still technically legal to beat your wife in public on the courthouse/town hall steps.

I'm surprised since a priest has told me otherwise. Are you in some sect that has a specific interpretation of "the devil"?

Your priest can check the bible himself. Lucifer was, however, the name of a 2nd century catholic priest

'Lucifer' is simply a name that the Church uses to refer to a spiritual being. Just because the creed that you've chosen to follow decides that they want to use it differently doesn't really have much significance for me.

So god is a lucifer?

Anyway I didn't realize this was about the "church". I thought it was about what the bible actually fvcking says. In the 800BC the concept of Satan being evil or that he was cast down didn't even exist. Your "church" owes that to other religions, mistranslations, apocrypha, .........................

So wait.....because they want it to mean more than it does they are right? Look into how the idea of the word (lucifer) meaning "state from which he has fallen" came about............

To break up the confusion, I'll let you know what Isaiah 14 was referring to. Of course, you only need to read the entire context yourself to figure it out, but it's a taunt to the King of Babylon. The Morning Star was a babylonian god, who's mother was called The Dawn. In no way does it reference angels or satan in anyway. In fact, it's circular reasoning to think it does, because the only reason people think satan is a fallen angel is because of this one and only verse. They say it must refer to satan because of how it talks about the fall from heaven, but no other verse refers to any fall from heaven by satan, nor that he is an angel. Satan is never referred to as an angel.

Which brings me to my first post in this thread, angels are not types of beings. Angel is not the proper translation of the words used in the bible and causes confusion. The proper translation is messenger, and it is applied to ANY messenger, including spiritual beings from God and the mundane messengers that walk the earth. It's simply a job title that can be applied to any being.

Oh and Job, the oldest book of the bible, is more than likely fictional. No doubt a moral story for the kids 4 thousand years ago.

Actually, I'd rather trust in my own understanding and the understanding of an institution of people who have devoted their entire life to scripture than some crackpot on the internet. Go ahead and believe what you want about the history of the use of the name 'Lucifer', but when you start telling me that my beliefs are not right because of some wacked-out revisionist biblical history then you can go shove that up your @ss.

Revisionist?!? I'm going off the original text the bible was translated from

Just read the chapter, it has zero reference to satan or any angels, it's a letter to the king of Babylon. There is absolutely no way it has a relationship with satan. If your understanding of it makes a connection to satan, you have a reading comprehension problem.

Oh, and for your information, "lucifer" is only in the latin vulgate, a poorly translated version of the bible. My studying comes off the actual text you get translations from. If you'd rather trust poor translations than the original text, and trust the catholic church, you are going to have more than this that is wrong.

Again, wrong. Quicksand is sand laying on top of water. Elephants cannot walk on top of water.

Yeah, I learned that on South Park a couple of weeks ago.

I call BS; none of the deer killed by my family have done that. They take a leak on you only after you cut into their bladder.

So your saying that you will believe anything said institution tells you, and never research the facts for yourself?

It wasn't just one "crackpot" on the internet, if you look back you'll see quite a few links that support what these guys are trying to say. And if you look for yourself, you can find even more. You should always research and seek the truth, regardless of faith. But it seems that people like you simply don't understand that.

Seems to me that your the "crackpot"
