I'm sure I'm not the only one.
A year ago i bought all the items to build a new computer. Due to medical issues I did not get around to it then. I'm in remission now. Yesterday I built the computer and installed Windows 11 with the software I bought a year ago. It was a Windows package with the seal still on the USB drive. I bought it through Amazon. Today I attempted to activate the software. Microsoft indicated it was an invalid activation code. I looked up my order on Amazon and looked up the vendor. They had a review that reported that they had received an invalid code. I contacted Amazon and ended up speaking with customer service. I was of course past the return date, but they said that they would "make a report". There is no longer a vendor page on Amazon. The vendor was monalisstorresw.
I usually look up the vendors on Amazon when I buy, but I don't think I did on this one.

Always better to look for "Sold and Shipped by Amazon" if you want legit items.

That said, most 3rd-party key-stores worked fine for me, too.

If you really "care" about activated Windows, grab a Win10 Pro key off of VIP-SCDKEYS for $25.

For years I have been using BelArc Advisor to pull legitimate keys off old installs of Win7-8Pro from machines people were throwing out and gave to me and recording them.....then when I need to do an install I simply USE a Windows 10 USB install drive and one of those keys. Every single one has activated and is LEGIT. I haven't bought any OSes since Windows 8.1 Pro in 2014 which I got directly from MS through a family member that worked there so it was actually free because his boss just gave him one.

I built a brand new computer last week, used a key off my best friend's old computer he gave me years ago that was Windows 7 Pro and used it, activated it....then immediately forced it to update to Windows 11. So essentially I have a clean Windows 11 install for a few minutes of work.
