I use to use ICQ a lot for counterstrike. From what I see , the only advantage is it's ability to leave messages that people can read when they log on. That feature was awesome

I still use it although there's really only one other person I know who uses it. I never get spam and love the offline messaging... plus it never goes down.

i didn't even know there was such a thing

but it could be because i always enable the things like, no messages are allowed to be sent to me from people outside my list.

just enable that and you will never receive spam..

switching from one IM to anther over a setting change is hilarious

But I don't have to do that with AIM. Sometimes there are people outside my buddy list, say when my friends get new screennames, etc.

 

in the early days the numbers weren't sequential

within the first few days i forgot my password and created a new account, its number was 201334

I use gaim for ICQ and AIM. I love gaim and it actually works right now. Every knock off ICQ client has never worked right until now.
