Even though they have a same record with Denver. 6 weeks in, to see the Kansas City Chiefs winning the Division is quite spectacular. (Tie Breakers)

Man... Houston, the Frowns, Skins and they draw Indy at Arrowhead in December, they def are set to also have a 14-X with the way that Defense is playing. Only unknown is when they play the Broncos. Will def be the games to watch.

Can you pick both Giants and Vikings to lose?

Not a whole lot of exciting games this week. Manning vs Luck is the only one that interests me. Detroit could very easily lose to the Kitties if their defense slips.

Monday Night could possibly have a terrible game.

The upset game could be the Chargers getting whipped. They (Rivers) basically said they'd be 4-3 by their bye week.

It wouldn't be a shocker, but boy would Phil have to eat those words.

Jets-Pats should be a good game. The Jets need to win or pretty much fall out of the race.

He hadn't demonstrated that he recovered. Early results from last year showed that he still hadn't and he was playing.

That, and the age difference is pretty big. They could have kept Manning around to develop Luck more slowly, but they chose not to.

Yeah, and that's looking like a well-timed move for both teams with, of course, the Colts winning because they have a very good, young QB while Denver gets probably the best QB of our lifetimes playing better than he's ever played.

If I knew I were getting this in Luck, yeah, I'd let Manning go too.

You don't rebuild with a contract like manning's. Especially when he's old and more injury prone, while your offensive line sucks a big fat one. Better to pay less for your qb and build up your OL, since a leaky OL can lead to another season ending injury.

they were concerned that the NFL would find out that he is really an android now. There weren't any clear rules on androids playing but they had a lot of money at stake.

I would say it was a good move for both teams.

Future proofing. I can't say it was a bad decision even with hindsight. Are you suggesting Luck won't be a good QB in 5 years? Will Manning?

Then add in the unknown at the time if Manning would recover, they didn't know when they traded him.

I was on a soap box saying it was time for Peyton to quit and become a coach. I was very loud about it. Then when the trade was announced, I basically called every person in Indy's office a moron.

Holy shit was I wrong.

If Manning was 100% healthy and they made that move, I would have called them idiots too.

But we have to remember that Manning's contract was conditional with Denver, so they weren't completely sure he would come back. The neck injury just compounded the fact, and with that massive contract and needing to rebuild, it was actually the perfect storm for Indy., IMHO.

First off, he wasn't traded. Indy let him become a free agent and he then signed with Denver. Pretty easy to understand why but you're not that smart.

Outside of Denver/Indy, not any other exciting games to watch. Horrible MNF match-up.

Is Freeman going to start for the Vikes Monday? I can't imagine they'll still play Cassell after his implosion Sunday.

C'mon. Four years from now when Peyton is home training the next generation of Manning qb's Luck will be playing in the Pro Bowl.

Ten years from now Anandtech newbies will be saying they never got to see Peyton play, while Luck is going one and out in the playoffs.

The Colts did the absolute smart thing.

If the Colts had kept Manning you would have to take 17.5 million dollars of talent off the Colts roster, plus sacrifice talent at other positions to strengthen the Colts O Line. Manning wouldn't be breaking any records then.

Of course if Luck had sucked I would have gleefully enjoyed the field day the internet would have had with Irsay.
