Seen this film a few days ago and wow. I never would of thought a Sweden vampire film could be so good! I had very high expectations and it took my breath away. This is a must see in the theater if you can if not the second best is on your home theater system on DVD.

Spoiler (Do not read below this line unless you want to have a scene from the movie told to you):

The part where Oskar cuts himself to trade blood with Eli was so memorizing. One of my favorite moments of the film

meh not in english

Of course not many of the best films are not in English.

All I can say is if it is in subtitles it needs to have enough nudity or violence to keep me focused or I won't bother with it.

I hope that one of the theaters around me pick it up...you'd think that Phoenix would have more independent theaters, but noooo.

I saw it just yesterday. Not to be a nuffer, but I thought it was pretty terrible. Definitely not deserving of the 98% that it got at Rotten Tomatoes (last time I checked). It's not a good horror film, it's not a good drama, it's just... not a good film. Badly needed an editor and was basically boring as hell. Meh. YMMV.

So my wife and I just saw "Let The Right One In" movie. We enjoyed it for the most part, it was a little slow at times, and we have a few questions on it.

1) The guy who was watching Eli in the beginning, who was that in relation to her? Her father? Someone else?

2) Oskar was at his dads place and some guy with longer black hair showed up, and Oskar hitched a ride home. Who was the guy with long black hair? Was it supposed to be his dad's lover or something and that's why his parents were separated?

3) Near the end of the movie Eli walked in Oscars house without being invited in and had to change her clothes. As she was changing her clothes Oscar peaked in and they has about a 1 second shot of some part of Eli that appeared to be injured. What was that a shot of?

Eli isn't actually a girl. Even though the character was played by a girl.

Eli isn't a girl as in she is a vampire or Eli was supposed to be a boy?

In the book, Eli was originally a boy and then had his genitals cut off in some incident or other.

In the film, I took Eli's constant comments of "Oskar, I'm not a girl" to mean "Oskar, I'm a vampire," not "Oskar, I used to be a boy," because there is very little conclusive evidence of the latter.

...I hate filmmakers who expect their audience to do all their work for them because they can't string together a decent story and instead go for ambiance and tone and cinematographic innovation. This film was massively crappy and a complete waste of time, IMO.
