Dude you have no idea then. A restaurant comes up with pricing based on staffing being one of the variables. You have location cost, the food costs, the staff.
Your taco place is probably full of illegals.
I don't agree. Wait staff doesn't really get paid directly by the restaurant, they get paid through tips. There is no incentive for a busy restaurant to cut on staff, none at all, no matter how cheap they are.
However, if a waiter is so busy they can't adequately serve my table, they deserve a reduced tip. Sorry, but that is how it works. If the reason they are so inept at handling my table is because the place is busy, they will make up for my small tip on the volume of other tips they make.
Taking your strategy of tipping fully regardless of how busy the place is and how slow the waiters are at serving you simply encourages them to reduce staff to the bare minimum- they still get full tips from each customer and can handle 5X as many customers, increasing the tip income immensely.
