1. Cycling
2. Cars if I can afford
3. A distant third would be occasionally PC gaming, which I don't do nearly as much as I used to.

Well, over the years I took up a lot of hobbies and I wonder how often do I have to do it to still cal it a hobby. I don't count listening to music or watching movies, because I think most people tend to do it and it isn't that specific:
Those that I attend to quite often are:
- cooking
- jogging
- playing Magic: The Gathering
- playing guitar and bass guitar
- reading books (I read a lot more than I watch movies)

now these that I haven't done in a while or I am doing it much less that I would like:
- pc gaming (I used to play a lot, but somehow I can't and don't want to force myself to play more. I haven't played anything in a while, but I prefer mainly oldschool RPGs and adventures and there are still a few that I haven't played or finished yet)
- building plastic model ships and airplanes (I haven't sit down to this in a while, but I have still a few aircraft models to be build)
- weightlifting (not enough time to do it regularly and I just don't want to do it only from time to time
- making electronic music (again, not enough time to set all the equipment and software and then sit with a 2 minutes long part for 10 hours...)
- hiking (I want to return to this one)

Growing plants - I grow chillies/peppers and dabble in bonsai. I have some trees that are not in training, just growing in regular pots to get larger.

Note to US readers - what you call peppers, we call chillies. Anyway.

I grow all of my peppers in pots outside - I have a plant stand for them, actually want to get another one. At the moment, its spring in South Africa, so I am busy germinating seed for 7 pot, douglah, bhut jolokia and rodo (I think Rodo is another name for scotch bonnet). In overwintered plants, I have Fatalii, Jalapeno, African Birds Eye, Pasilla, Guajillo, Lemon Drop and Malawi Paprika. I have ordered seeds for rocotillo, Spanish padron, Aji Panca, and one or two other varieties.

I do play PC games, not all that much anymore.

Pleas tell me more what make street lights so fascinating and do you have them displayed in your back yard.

I think it stems from the fact that I've always been interested in electricity. I do have one light installed in my parents' backyard, but none at my place. The rest are in the garage or in storage.

Used to drive race cars (dirt/asphalt modifieds and late models), but it got too expensive. Damn I miss racing

Right now my only hobby is reef aquariums.

I also like board games, but I don't get to play them much because my wife isn't as interested as I am.

I don't consider this a hobby, but I like drinking beer and smoking cigars on my back deck while making lewd comments to my fiance.

I also don't consider this to be a hobby, but I like playing video games and drinking beer and smoking my pipe.

Also I like watching movies and drinking beer and smoking my pipe.

I have gotten a bit into home brewing, but, need to buy raw materials to start another batch.

I like fixing things since it can save me money, and it can be interesting/challenging sometimes.

I like making bonfires in my back yard while smoking cigars and drinking beer.

I love traveling. This year we had a 4 day road trip to Michigan, a 4 day road trip to Door County WI (went to Washington Island this time around rather than usual visit to Sturgeon Bay), and we have an 8 day cruise coming up in December. Last year was New Orleans + 5 day cruise for one trip, and then South Carolina + Smokey Mountains for another trip.

I find that I usually have too much to occupy my time and not enough time to do it in.

Hmm, primarily:

-Magic: The Gathering
-Yoga
-Computer tinkering/video games
-learning about random shit
-Being outside in the anti-winter

The order changes depending on what my partner is up to. The only one we really share is Yoga and the outdoors in addition to the regular couple stuff that doesn't really count as a hobby.

Used to play Battletech but that is good and dead in my area now.

Define a hobby.

Computers used to be a hobby but now they are mainstream and part of life.
Tinkering with gadgets used to be a hobby but now that is my job.
My free time is usually filled up by projects around the house that need to get done. Is that a hobby?

I suppose the internet is my hobby.

carving pipestone
Swapping parts in my computer (just for fun)
shooting
perfecting my car survival kit
volunteer with VFW (usually doing make-busy work for vets in hospice care)
volunteer with Izaak Walton (normally road clean up but sometimes tending to the small forested area we own)
video games
Rifts, Heroes Unlimited, sometimes D&D (but not much for the past 4 years or so.)
Photography (in between cameras right now)
Collecting junk pocket knives

I am unemployed and school has been out for a month and a half, bored like you would not believe. Would rather be in school full time and use a little free time to do stuff.
