in·fin·i·tive, n.
dictionary.reference.com said:
a verb form found in many languages that functions as a noun or is used with auxiliary verbs, and that names the action or state without specifying the subject, as French venir “to come,” Latin esse “to be,” fuisse “to have been.”

I would pay to have my own case built to my specifications. That would take up a good chunk of money.

I'd sink a ton of money into a custom Amish built desk I designed myself, and a triple monitor setup, and probably pair a nice projector system with it for lan parties and watching movies.

As for system hardware; not a big deal. Hardly anything can phaze my 2600k/580, so even a newer 3770k with SLI and watercooling would be simply for kicks (and not be all that expensive).

Agreed. The internals themselves wouldn't be that expensive. Even with a virtually unlimited budget, I would think about what I actually need the PC for and buy parts accordingly because that makes sense to me. I would rather like to spend cash on personalization

I have no budget restrictions, but I like a system that's stable, easy to maintain, and has as few issues with drivers as possible.

So I built:
Antec P280, i5-2500, 8 GB RAM, single GTX-680, 80 GB SSD boot (intel 310), 256 GB SSD data (Samsung 830), 1 TB storage (recycled Samsung Spinpoint). Onboard sound. Single 1900x1200 Dell 24" monitor.

It runs quietly, plays the games I want to play at 1900x1200, and hasn't had any problems. Spending an extra $10,000 wouldn't really make it better for my needs.

Completely agree, why spend on something that you never use anyway...? :sneaky::thumbsup:

(for bragging rights perhaps, but I have nothing to prove to anyone...)

Hrmm, if I had all the money in the world...

I wonder how much power they could stuff in a small, portable box if I gave Intel, Samsung, and Nvidia trillion dollar infusions. I guess I could spend another trillion for a custom 4K pico projector with at least 3000 lumens. You know, since we've left the realm of reality and entered a dream world.

No dual CPU system yet?!

I like messing around with hardware and would rather build it myself, but I don't do anything that would be worth the hassle to install two CPU heatsinks. Save 5 minutes of time > dual CPUs

Personally, I'd get the Emperor 1510. Get more bang for the buck I think. Have them mod it for three 30" LCDs. Then build a hefty rig myself for maybe five grand at the most just to run everything.

I think that most people here have learned (many the hard way) that today's $3,000 PC build will be about as fast as an average $1,000 PC build a year from now.

There are better things to spend money on that hold their value better than high end gaming PC's.

Well that's a bit of an exaggeration. A $3000 PC now is more like a $2000-2500 PC one year from now.
