You seem to think it's a mind game, it's far more a resource game.

Who has the biggest fire hose (bandwidth for DDoS) and who has the most trained actors available.

Nations and governments clearly have the advantage here, China's cyber security budget alone is probably large enough to embarrass almost any large corporation, not to mention having several million domestic chinese computers connected to a government controlled botnet for large DDoS actions.

This is a numbers game and business entities can't be expected to keep up on their own.

Sounds like it calls for routers / filters between us and China. Ones that can detect a pattern of attack and suddenly block access to the US from China.

jesus christ, drumpf is just a whiny, petulant child
"My microphone was terrible," Trump complained. "I wonder: was it set up that way on purpose?"
http://www.cnn.com/2016/09/27/politics/hillary-clinton-donald-trump-debate-reaction/index.html

While I am completely speculating, I wonder if it had something to do with what I saw on page #2 of this thread? (Here: Lets get ready for some Monday Night Debating Cage Fight "Officially Confirmed" )
Basically Trumps organization wouldn't reply to request from the people organizing the debate. I wonder if they asked for a height for the podium and microphone but never got a response so they went with their best guess?

Hillary looked depressed and sullen last night. But what most voters found was her 6:00 PM shadow had not been shaved giving her an even more sinister look. With thoughts of deleted Clinton Foundation emails dancing in her head she was probably distracted as well.

Trump was a debate ninja. I expect he will win the election in a landslide.
Well, that's the view from Disneyland, obviously.

Haha Trumps at a roundtable event talking about how he won every poll but CNN but nobody reads CNN.

The best part: as is usually the case with Trump, he's lying.

Never mind informal online polls rigged by Trump supporters from Reddit... accurate, scientifically weighted polling outfits like Public Policy and YouGov say Clinton won. That seems to be consistent with conventional national polls from the same day. The gap was particularly large for anyone who wasn't a white male, and even then Trump lost in YouGov's study. And it should be noted that CNN was the first out of the gate with a post-debate poll -- there hadn't been others where Trump could have won.

Trump may be learning the hard way that his constant attempts to manufacture his own reality don't work well outside of the Republican echo chamber.

Off Topic sorry. Don't remind me, I always wanted to go on the Captain Nemo submarine ride. When I first went as a child I wasn't tall enough, when I went as a teen it was closed for repairs for 3 days, when I went as an adult it was being repaired, when I went again it was closed for "remodeling" which meant it was being disassembled for a new ride.

Bah, I'm still disappointed I never made it on that stupid ride.

*I'll give my Sister credit she knew I was really bummed out I couldn't get on the ride as a kid when she got off she said the ride wasn't that fun. Now that she is an adult she admitted she lied, she loved it but she didn't want me to be sad.

^^ Just kidding about the steering part. The subs were on rails. Really off topic: did you ever play submarine wars with flipped over canoes?

I was at a pool party once when I was 10 and noticed two upside-down kid-sized plastic boats floating around in the pool. I decided to try jumping on one and ride it like a surfboard. It flipped over and revealed crying girls. Felt bad man.

Presidential candidates never meet with reporters after the debates, except Trump in this case. You never saw Obama, Romney, McCain, or anyone else do that.

I wonder if Trump realized how badly he just got his ass kicked and was trying to make up lost ground or if he just couldn't control himself when he realized a camera would be nearby.

I believe you meant to say never until now.

From what I heard on CSpan before the debate he had planned in advance to meet with the reporters after the debate, so doubt it had anything to do with his perception of his performance.

Really amazed though he didn't make better use of the cyber security question, had I been there I would have just laughed and said that it was kind of funny they were asking Clinton how she would handle cyber security given not only her email handling but also how owned the DNC got....seems like so many lost opportunities.

The outcome of the debate was as we expected. The "official" interpretation of it is that "Clinton won", but if you look around you can find as much Trump supporters who are convinced that he won.

Everyone is in their own bubble and from that P.o.V. I think everyone actually got confirmed in their own beliefs. The T haters got confirmation that he is a rambling idiot and liar. The T supporters got confirmation that he brought the "real" issues on the table etc..etc..

It was, although somewhat entertaining, a pointless debate.

The only ones which I think would have gotten something new from the debate would be people who maybe NEVER heard about Trump and watch him speak, they would've watched the debate and probably asked themselves what the idiot is doing up there. But then we can speculate there don't exist many of such people if at all.

I read one interesting opinion on CNN, where one of the (few) who thought that "Trump won" said
"being presidential won't help her win the election. She spoke to the intellectuals tuning in; she did not speak to the average American."

I think the woman had a point here. Trump supporters do NOT support him because he appears "presidential". He never did, and he never will be "presidential". It is NOT a criterion in this election, absurdly and sadly. And by being more intellectual and focused (what we say was a clear win for Clinton in the debate), Clinton merely spoke to her supporters while the "average American", the typical Trump supporter just got more confirmation (bias) that Trump is the guy "who gets things done" and Clinton "is just talk", DESPITE it very well being factually incorrect. Clinton needs to get nastier and expose Trump as what he is...respective needs to focus on "minorities" and women to sway them over (which I think she did a good job at), and the women vote may WELL decide this election this time!

Another savvy trouncing by Clinton--walk away with the clear win, leave him behind to keep his mouth open and dig himself an even deeper hole.

It will be interesting to see what the poll numbers look like vs what the pundits and the die hards on the left think...

There's nothing she can do to win over Trump supporters, and she won't get anyone that's somehow not decided yet by playing his game.

It's pretty hard to see it as anything else than a trouncing for Trump.

Particularly after insinuating that she was at deaths door.

Do you really think that Trump came out of that as looking like he was playing to his strengths?

That's not even the point. I'm not suggesting that the feds be responsible for setting digital hardpoints on private data. It's about federal policy and diplomacy dealing with foreign states that encourage the behavior.

It is my understanding that American diplomacy involves the decision of whether to drop smart bombs or send in troops or do both.

Are you suggesting that American diplomacy could become more nuanced OR are you suggesting that America would use diplomacy (smart bombs/troops) to solve the problem.

Trump looked direly ill in the debates. He must be knocking on death's door, weeks to live. Also he was high on cocaine at the very least, perhaps also a cocktail of cat piss and fermented Trump steaks.

I ended up hearing that most people only watch the first 20 or so minutes of the debate, the point which all of the CNN commentators agreed that Trump did a good job of highlighting how Clinton represents the same old, same old which apparently many are tired of.

I think Trump did pretty horribly this time, he had ample opportunity to attack Clinton and instead got tripped up defending himself and digging himself into a hole, I mean really who cares about Rosie O'Donnell and some long forgotten Miss Universe winner...no one

But I also feel she came off as exceptionally smug and wonder how that will be received by folks, guess we will have to wait for the polling results.

While I don't think they care about rosie o'donnell or some miss universe contestant specifically, they should care how he refers to women, treats women and disrespects women. I think that was the takeaway there.
Just curious, have you ever condemned drumpf's smug behavior? He's shown it on countless occasions.

Trump, never for the Iraq war.
Jan, 2003:
“Well, I’m starting to think that people are much more focused now on the economy,” Trump said. “They’re getting a little bit tired of hearing ‘We’re going in, we’re not going in.’ Whatever happened to the days of Douglas MacArthur? Either do it or don’t do it.”

Trump continued: “Perhaps he shouldn’t be doing it yet. And perhaps we should be waiting for the United Nations.

Lester Holt was wrong against Trump.

I can tell you that I have an "independent" grandmother (she prides herself on voting for the winner of every election since Eisenhower, with the exception of GWB) that hates Hillary Clinton but is voting for her anyways because she thinks Trump is a misogynistic brute. That might be a relatively small portion of independents, but Trump needs all the ones he can get. Anyone fickle enough to still be undecided at this point is fickle enough to get scared over some mean words or an awkward appearance.
