Strange... I thought Trump did a better job than Hillary.
Hillary stumbled over her words and was left speechless numerous times.

It's interesting how everyone interprets debates so differently.

The only major thing I noticed with Trump was his endless rant about Sean Hannity and not suggesting Iraq invasion.
...and his childish inserted comments every few minutes.

Every statement Trump made was endless ranting. He rarely completed a sentence and went off in every direction while not actually answering a question that was put to him. There was no coherent train of thought in any responses he made.

Are you serious? It sure is funny to compare headlines this morning. You'd think the news agencies watched two different shows last night (it was a show, not a debate)

Not exactly a mic drop:

I could not locate the bottom right abcNEWS poll on their site, maybe the liberal media removed it

Or

Its from that fake ABCnews site that appears occasionally on these forums its the site that posts glowing reviews of Trump and says Russian troops are only in Russia.

Extremely interesting, yes!

But other than that?

I did notice she missed a great opportunity to slam him on advocating for war crimes (plundering iraqi oil). Can't believe she let that go.

He absolutely didn't.

More than anything, Trump was petty and irrational. He let Clinton get under his skin for things that any competent politician would shrug off. He went on tangents that were increasingly irrelevant to the discussion. He antagonized the moderator when caught in some of his frequent, blatant lies (stop-and-frisk, for example). And of course, there's the tremendous irony of claiming that Clinton is the one with the bad temperament for the presidency.

Clinton did trip over herself a bit, but Trump was stumbling around for most of the debate.

I think he did well through the first 2 or 3 questions, staying on point, as he seemed to have stuck to whatever he rehearsed. Once he was driven off the rails the longer the time went, the more he couldn't help himself from interrupting Clinton, the ranting overtook his cognitive centers. He couldn't string together a coherent sentence nor a functional thought. 90% of that event was a disaster for him. Not once did he put together a competent thought behind any of his so-called plans--still "we need to do this!" but never any detail or reasonable assertion as to how to do such things or that such things could ever be done.

That seems to be the line of attack from the Trump team this morning. Pence was on CNN saying that as were other surrogates. "See, she's been a politician for 30 years so she sounded scripted".

Apparently respecting the office and the voters enough to understand the issues and preparing to discuss them is now a bad thing.

There was no trace of irony from Trump when he argues it was smart for him to pay no federal income taxes but then 10 minutes later argue that countries around the world and NATO countries aren't paying anything and should be paying their fair share.

JUST made this comment in a discussion this morning. He clearly said (multiple times?) that we should have "taken the oil" and gotten out. Uhhh.... yeah. You can't exactly invade a country, steal their natural resources and leave. Not to mention, exactly how do you simply "take the oil". Just back up a few tankers and pump it out real quick like?

He missed one right at the very start when Hillary blurted out on the gender wage gap that he thinks that women shouldn't get paid the same as men if they can't do as well a job as men. He should've agreed and amplified instead of behaving like Romney on the same. One would think that four years would be enough time to make sure the gender wage gap myth gets put down brutally at the first sight.

I never understood this either. Oil takes years and years to exploit, meaning he's talking about some extended occupation for the purposes of resource extraction.

It takes decades and decades -- they've been pumping that shit out of the middle east for 100 years and the place still has an ocean of black gold under the sand. Let's not forget that such an act would be considered a war crime and the US would be in pretty deep shit internationally.

I'm not wrong that ISIS isn't even occupying Iraq's oil-producing areas, am I? and who are they selling it to if indeed they are making millions off of oil in Iraq and Libya as Trump is claiming?

Forget the fact that it's a war crime and totally illegal, can you even imagine the domestic politics of that? I mean people were (justifiably) angry enough when their sons or daughters were killed in a pointless invasion of Iraq but at least in that case there was some veneer of an idea that they were trying to build a stable state so that America and the region would be safe or whatever. In this case people's sons and daughters would be dying so we could loot someone's oil fields. Can you imagine the incredible rage that would create in this country? They would run him out of town with pitchforks.

I picked up on Trump defending himself for the last 3/4 of the debate. He had a good first 20-30 minutes, because one of the few things he's absolutely right about is NAFTA, but after that he quickly ran out of steam. Trump's talent is saying nothing, but making it sound like he's saying something, and he did a lot of that circular talking last night. A typical Trump response sounds like: "I'm for that thing that you said because that thing is a very important thing and we're getting killed by other countries over that thing but that thing is being is being mismanaged so I'm going to fix that thing because I know how to deal with that thing."

So, I don't think Hillary stumbled so much as she doesn't have that forceful manner of talking that Trump does.

So now you're Texashiker stupid. Thumbs up I guess!

He got that from Trump's twitter feed BTW. He tweeted about how he's leading the polls on Drudge Report too It's like having a Klan pole: "Which race is better?"
A. Whites
B. Other races

This article sums things up for me: Debate summary

This article seems to miss the point as I don't think either one of them was trying to rev up their base so much as appeal to the unusually large percentage of undecided voters that's still present right now. I don't think the author correctly identified the goal.

Damn Trump. Stay classy.

I like invited reporters to the gym to watch her workout.
I will say an expectation for her to stay lean isn't unreasonable in the context of the Pageant but I'm sure women voters will think differently especially since her fat weight was 160lbs and the average American woman weighs 166lbs.
