Don't think we've had one for a while, and I'm getting sick of "Which Speakers Should I Buy", "Will more RAM help me", and "Which CDRom should I Buy". I think I see these threads about 4,3 and 2 times per week respectively.

So this is another common thread but I haven't see one for a while.
So what have you guys got.

I have a 17" .25dp proview monitor that will do 1600x1200x60Hz pretty good for a 17" though 60Hz is hard on the eyeballs.
I have a logitech cordless freedom keyboard (on PS/2 not USB)
I have a logitech optical wheel mouse (also on PS/2 not USB)
I also have a gravis gamepad pro (gameport not USB)

I have an RCA 200 watt shelf system for speakers..no rear input pretty good quality though . And a 5 disc CD changer that I haven't used yet....(Mp3s kick ass)
I have a Lexmark InkJet1000 printer and it's parrallel not USB (are we getting the idea that USB doesn't serve much purpose in my computer?)
I have an Acer 620U scanner that's USB (finally! I use one!)

that about covers it all.

Oh yeah one 256MB DIMM is micron -75 chips, and I'm pretty sure my 128MB DIMM is micron chips as well, not 100% sure though, but it manages PC100 at 2-2-2 on my K7M so I dun really care.

Good thought, but I doubt this is going to help slow down the 'product recommendation request' threads... I have plenty of components that aren't the best of the best, and hardware that I even regret getting. Also keep in mind a lot of people think that if they own it, it must be the best... we tend to favor our own belongings and in turn give biased recommendations also keeping in mind the fact that in all probability they haven't even heard the competition... that's why I hate hearing "promedia's are the ABSOLUTE best speakers out there, go buy them!" and all that such. Okay I'm starting to rant so I guess I'll end it here. Just thought I'd offer my opinion

lol, actually ragiepew it's not the asking that I have issues with. Asking for group opinions on products is a perfectly good use for these forums.

My problem is the respones I see.
Pick some brands.
Plextor, nVidia, Klipsch are my 3 favourite examples at the moment. None of them are bad, but the way most people around here talk it's like you are complete and utter retard should you decide on anything else. Plextor CDRWs are great, but for me for the amount of burning I do it's not worth the extra price, I don't use my burner that much. And I've suggested Yamaha to people as a cost effective alternative to plextor for people that do maybe 4 or 5 CDs a month like myself. And every time I say anything like that I get sh*t on.

You should see what happens if I'm ever enough of an "idiotic 3dfx zombie" to recommend a Voodoo3 to someone who does some light gaming on their P2/300-500, not heavy gaming, just a bit here and there, they mostly use the machine for business type use, and wants a decent card that will let them play most games, but mostly want a card that's easy to set up, cheap and has decent 2D. Well let me tell you right now the Geforce2 MX is the ONLY card that fits that category. Nevermind that my friend wants to spend under $100 canadian...well if that's the case he's just doesn't deserve to have a computer that plays games.

So please ragiepew don't be offend by my comments, it's not people like you that want recommendations on a product to buy that bother me. It's all the Zealots that think there brand is the only one that exists. It's something like Madcowz said. I'm sorry that I gave you the wrong impression ragiepew.

btw HONKER24 that's some damn nice speakers! Heheh I'm going for something like that to eventually

noriaki... i know what you mean... and I was being a bit sarcastic in saying that but I didnt want to know what you ment. I couldnt agree more w/ your comments, thats why i appreciate what you said in my thread about speakers... actually comparing the two instead of bashing one and praising the other!
