That looks like a cool place to live! Sometimes I wish I lived in the EU.
What's funny about your post, is that even the supposedly "ghetto" parts of Vancouver look pretty nice (other than a few guys sitting on the sidewalk or something). That's like trying to post the bad parts of Geneva or Stockholm.
You want some real dumps, check out Mexico City or Rio.
It's pretty good I suppose. A bit sleepy sometimes, but on the other hand, no shootings, very little drug dealing (certainly not in the open) no street racing except for this crazy dude, but I guess he mostly put himself in danger
I think it looks pretty bad. The buildings look kind of filthy, weathered and run down. We had a building like that:

It's being renovated now, but there were actually people living there until recently. But in the OP's pics, all the buildings have that kind of look to some extent.
One of the worst immigrant ghettos in Stockholm:

Similar immigrant area in my town:

man i wish i lived up there
I grew up/lived in in Richmond till i was 23 and now live in Surrey. My aunt lives just south of the # 1 at the 21st st exit and told me about the view from up there and i used to go up there a bunch when the road was just put in and there was no houses to screw up the view, thats going back 5-10 years now. Its not a long drive up there less than 4 min from the highway.
I don't live in Detroit but I'd post this if I lived there!

The dumpy parts of Vancouver and Sweden look nicer than good parts of US cities.

Nice lake shore view. BTW those links are all the same.
Safest / lowest crime town/suburbia in the South (at least for population 100k+)
The nice
Also nice
Sweet view
Sweet view 2
The modern and busy
Not so nice
The not so nice 2
Pan around 360 to get a good view!
Yea, you're right. Some of these trailer parks do look a bit like campgrounds, especially since there's tall forest surrounding the trailer homes. I couldn't find a picture of a proper run-down block house hood in town, so these trailer homes will suffice for the "worst of my city". Now, 20 miles north, Durham has some proper hoods and violent neighborhoods. The last one looks like a camp ground lol. I don't know why but all those pics look "hot" to me, weather wise I mean.

Perhaps, these pictures look "hot" because these might have been shot in the summer: the grass in "sweet view 2" is a bit yellow after all. It can sometimes get to be about 105F in the summer here (a toasty 40C). Hopefully Vancouver BC doesn't experience such harsh summer days!
This is just absolutely insane! Maybe these were shot at different times, and both streets look like the "Bad" now. If these are concurrently taken pics, then I'm just totally speechless.I don't live in Detroit but I'd post this if I lived there!

This shot reminds me of Miami beach for some reason. Maybe it's the squareness of the buildings, the bright sky and colors down the block, and the multi-story apartment buildings.
