Approaching 100mph, impacting water is like cement. It's not hard to break your neck if you fall at 80+mph, or lose control and careen in to another watercraft, shore, hit a swimmer, etc...

My brother-in-law has a pair of Kawasaki 300x with 300HP. They're governed at ~65MPH but they get there in a real hurry. He lends them out a bit too liberally IMHO but hasn't had any incidents fortunately.

I don't have an 80MPH Sea Doo, I was just thinking about it.

However, if you buy the RXP, which are supercharged and intercooled, it comes with 260HP and it is governed at 67MPH. For something like $200 you can send the computer down to some company to have the governor removed and voila, 80+MPH

I've gone on a lot of jet skis, or sea doo's as you call em ... 80+ MPH would be scary as shit.

Having spilled off of one at (according to the speedo) 114KM/H or ~70MPH I can tell you its something I don't want to repeat.

We have a Yamaha Wave Runner SHO (1.8L Supercharged engine) It's 0-30 is something rediculously short. It is a beast.

I've logged alot more hours since then, but sometimes it still isn't tamed... I know someone else on the lake who (apparently) broke their wrist in a turn trying to hold on to their unit.

Great fun, but when people I don't know well take it out for a spin, I put it in Limp mode 1 which IIRC limits it to 40MPH.
