Anyone else into mountain biking? Let's see the hardware!
My current bike is a 2014 Trek Fuel EX 5 29er I picked up in November 2013 and have modified a bit. It's been a great bike as I ride single track with some decent downhills to contend with. I rode a Fuel EX 9 at a demo event at my favorite trail and I can't justify the extra cost. This bike does all that I need since I don't ride pro, just with a few buddies. The furthest we've done in one sitting was the MoCo Epic 50-miler.

Converted it to a 1x setup with Raceface cranks, Raceface NW chainring, and Raceface bash guard (optional). The only time I've regretted it was on that 50-miler.
And the Shimano X9 Type 2 short cage to complete the conversion:
