I dont know why you guys like little or nothing on your screen. The point of a smart phone is to get information. I keep several widgets on my center page so I can get loads of useful info in one quick glance (weather, email, appointments). I dont have to waste time digging for stuff.
Anything that is one swipe away, I don't waste my time clogging valuable screen real estate.
That includes having things like...
1.) Super Clock widgets(I suppose if has vision problems, it may be useful). There is no need for it especially if it's already there in the status/notification bar or somewhere else on the screen. If those who use such widgets are able to get rid of having the time displayed in the notification bar, then I suppose it may be useful...But there's no need to have the time displayed in 2 different places on the same screen. Custom ROMs or running "Xposed with Gravity Box" can easily fix that.
2.) Google Now is one swipe away, therefore there is no need for me to have "weather " clogging up valuable real estate space or making my main screen look ridiculous. How often do people really check the weather? I'd wager it's probably no more than once a day, but even that is being too generous. Most people probably check once every 2-3 days.
3.) "Mobile hotspot" is already available in quick settings and is one swipe away. The same can be said about things like "Flashlight", "Settings", "GPS", "Bluetooth", and other toggles/widgets that are already available in "Quick settings" by pulling down the notification bar with a single swipe.
So far, I'm the only one that has a Hotspot in the #1 position. That is probably my most used feature when I travel.
Or probably because that is under quick settings which is one swipe away and there's no need for it to be on the main screen.
