Yah they do a lot of exclusivity deals which I hate so I might not care for them that much anymore despite how few times I have had them. Last time I had one of their tubs it was good but not OMFG this is so good type of shit. They seem to be too much into marketing and corporate bullshit.

I agree that their other flavors are good and not mind blowing good but this mango really was mind blowing OMFG good to me.

Interesting. We used to get the Costco ice cream all the time and I've never noticed it not melt. And I'm a WoW-addict. I most definitely get sidetracked long enough for my ice cream to melt =)

Just from some quick Googling/Wikipedia, looks like you're right and the guar gum is what's doing it -- or at least part of it. The cream content apparently can also play a role in the speed at which ice cream melts -- more cream means a slower melt. Not sure what the difference is there .... perhaps I'll need to buy some of all 3 and compare!

I don't think I'd like that. I'm not a big fan of fruit flavors. I like the brand though, and have had a few of their gelato varieties. Nice containers also. I use them to take food to work.

I found out about Trader Joe's Ultra Chocolate in a thread here. $3.99 for a quart. Tasty. I've been making a small malt with it on weekends after a workout. Lately I get the 1/2 gallon of French Vanilla for $5.99 and add gourmet cocoa. Also Horlick's malt powder.

Shurbert?
Franz Schubert FTW

Gelato (or whatever they are) containers, those pint cylinders. I've found 4 of them at the curb, never bought the stuff. The containers are great for keeping crackers crispy.

mango fruit?

True story...

When my daughter was little, she really wanted a mango, so we got one from the store. I gave her a knife and a plate, and she went to work trying to get to the fruit. It was a fuckin' disaster. She ended up with a slimy mess, and started crying because she was having a difficult time with it. That was the last mango we got.

You gave your daughter a knife and plate and told her to go to work?

You didn't cut it for her?

It was her project. I don't know how to open a mango, and you learn by doing.
Lmao 'Murica! Does she still have all 10 fingers? It normally takes a sharp knife to cut into a mango, not the kind to give to a young child with instructions to go "to work."

Kids will live up or down to expectations. Treat them like a worthless baby, and you get a worthless baby(you see some of that product around here). Treat them as a capable, functional person, and you get a capable functional person. She has all her fingers, and has made it to 17 pretty well intact. I have few complaints.

their Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip is awesome, and I am not a raspberry person, but I guess raspberry and chocolate go really good together like a good pairing of wine and certain foods that bring the best taste out of each other...and they have these tiny little pieces of chocolate chips in them, so good!

Sometimes you learn monkey see monkey do.

Mango is the most eaten fruit on the planet, partly because it's so easy to grow. They hang from big trees and just drop on the ground, they did when I was in HI, and I didn't have to pay for them.

They are a little messy to eat, especially if you aren't familiar with them. The way I eat a mango I got from observing someone I know who's crazy about them. You take a sharp knife and score the mango along longitudinal lines with the pit and opposite ends as the poles. You then peel the strips. Probably around 8 or so cuts on the fruit, depending on the size. It works really well to remove the skin. Once the skin is removed, the only impediment is the pit. You could just bite into it or cut off the fruit from the pit. You could then make your own mango ice cream (I have an ice cream making machine, I've made some incredibly delicious ice cream).

I remember one from grammar school:

You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream.
