4. I agree with this 100%. I also think that them using the term "great person" so nonchalantly is ridiculous. If they care so god damn much about its implications, then they wouldn't use it themselves. I mean, how hypocritical can you get?

5. I asked this to my parents when I was young (I'm 13 now ) and they said it is because many blacks are poor. Therefore, they don't have money for the physical things like video games and such that white children play with. So, they go out and shoot hoops all day.

Majority of whites are/were not being discriminted by other races. The other way was/is true, thats why they're always kept under microscope. Its like a police record, who do they first look for?, people with previous police record.

A lot of blacks in the US are very large, muscular people whereas blacks in Africa are not as large. I'm not completley sure on this, but I think that selective breeding of slaves produced abnormally large and strong people.

I reserve my right to be as racist as I want to be whenever I want to be.
It's none of my business whether or not anyone is racist, and I really don't care.
On the other hand, I do think the world would be a much better place if everyone would just mind their own goddam business.

It really wasnt until Abe Lincoln that our government attempted to include anyone other than white men in rights.

1. It isn't accepted. Just most people don't care enough to give Nagin's words any power.

2. You can't wear that t-shirt because "Prout White American" has been abused severely. It's like displaying the Confederate flag and defending it by saying you're proud of your Southern heritage. You're not stupid, you understand the implications, so take the heat if you wear the shirt.

4. Example of a stereotype. All Asians are smart. I am Asian, but have no shred of intelligence in me. I have proven the stereotype wrong.

Keep in mind that the civil rights movement was only like 40 years ago, and that racism was still a very big problem. It can be argued how long it persisted after that (even a problem today?) But let us assume that they now have a *fair* chance in society. Even then, how can an entire population be expected to have pulled themselves out of poverty in that short of a time? People love to point at blacks in prison, on welfare, in the ghetto. It's not cause their black, it's cause their POOR, simple as that. There are many successful blacks, but the odds are really stacked against a person if they start off poor and in the ghetto where the schools suck and everybody they know is ignorant.

I find it annoying how in this day and age, so many people have the mindset that whenever they see a race in a sentence, they automatically assume it was used in a negative/racist way and reply with some form of "what does <race> have to do with anything?"

Many times race is used to describe the situation or topic at hand. I have seen countless threads where something happened to the OP and he is describing what happened. He mentions some <race> man/woman did this or that blah blah blah, and immediately you get some people who just spit out the obligatory "what does being <race> have anything to do with it".

It annoys me that they have this mindset that anytime race is used, it is in a condescending manner. They can't stop to fully read the article/post/whatever and realize that it's not always racist to mention race.

No. I don't care. I don't need anyone to give me anything, never did.
I have an education, talent, drive, and can earn on my own (and consequently do).
If that doesn't get it I can always steal.

- nobody ever said it was the white mans fault. Many stereotypes are in place due to the social setup of society, which encourages blacks to underachieve.

- Ask any poor black family why their kids are so involed in sports - it's for one reason, and one reason only - because it's generally believed that a child who is good in sports will have a greater opportunity to make it out of poverty and into real success.

I don't have the time to bust out my ethics book and go into much detail, but i do believe that if you were really interested in understanding these topics, you'd be better off taking an ethics class to study racial dynamics in depth.

if you understood the affirmative action system, you'd understand that race only comes into play when there are two EQUALLY qualified applicants. The basic principles of AA would not let unqualified applicants be hired. Any instances where this has happened have been due to a basic misunderstanding of the AA system.

With AA, if Jo-Ann, a white woman, and Cindy, a black woman, both applied for a job position, and they were BOTH equally qualified, Cindy would be more likely to get the position due to AA.

If Jo-ann was more qualified, and Cindy was not, Cindy would not get the position.

Anyway, time to chime in on my take on your questions:

1. Honestly, many white people aren't that offended by things other races say about whites because we have control over them. Caucasians hold all the cards in this country and most of the world. The "New Orleans Chocolate City" incident is laughed at by all the people I know. If the situation was reversed and the majority of wealth/control in America was in the hands of blacks, the "chocolate city" thing would hold more ground. It's probably racist to judge it as laughable, but in this day and age everything is racist.

2. It's been said before, but we do; it's for specific countries. I guess there's enough variance in culture between European countries that "White Pride" is overlooked by most other than racists. Again, it's a power thing. Whites don't have a history of being oppressed and told they're inferior human beings, at least not from another race. Then again, it's fairly recent that "Jewish" people were considered white, and they're still not by many.

3. Who knows. I think they were more concerned with establishing an independant country for religious freedom than a place where all races could congregate as equals. It's interesting that the president associated with freeing the slaves, Mr. Lincoln, suffered from mental illness(es).

4. The majority of stereotypes have truth in them, if they didn't they wouldn't be stereotypes. I argue this all the time actually.

5. Maybe in the relatively short time that whites have existed, we abandoned muscle to focus on mind, but if that's true there's not a major difference. Anyway, the average white person has a lot more options than the average black person to succeed. If you're poor you're screwed, and a much higher percentage of blacks than whites are impoverished. The best option for many black males is to be entertainers.
