Aye, then throw in a nobody ATOT member with a potentially inflamatory username and an apparent superiority complex, a rehashed topic given in a less-than-inspirational or original format, and you have a nice recipe for yet another useless race-related ATOT thread.

Good job, OP! You've lowered the bar even further.

Yeah, two people equally qualified, but the employer is forced to hire someone of a certain race? That's the very definition of racism.

Affirmative Action is racist on two counts.

1. It assumes the white employer is too racist to give the minority the job if they are qualified.

2. And it assumes if the white employer isn't racist, the minority candidate is too dumb to earn the job themselves.

Both of which statements are flat out racist and lies.

How so? Do you know what angst is? You have heard the expression a black heart?

He has a point. "Blackangst" sounds like either a 14 year-old goth kid or some "I'm black and opinionated" black person.

Anyway, time to chime in on my take on your questions:

1. Honestly, many white people aren't that offended by things other races say about whites because we have control over them. Caucasians hold all the cards in this country and most of the world. The "New Orleans Chocolate City" incident is laughed at by all the people I know. If the situation was reversed and the majority of wealth/control in America was in the hands of blacks, the "chocolate city" thing would hold more ground. It's probably racist to judge it as laughable, but in this day and age everything is racist.

2. It's been said before, but we do; it's for specific countries. I guess there's enough variance in culture between European countries that "White Pride" is overlooked by most other than racists. Again, it's a power thing. Whites don't have a history of being oppressed and told they're inferior human beings, at least not from another race. Then again, it's fairly recent that "Jewish" people were considered white, and they're still not by many.

3. Who knows. I think they were more concerned with establishing an independant country for religious freedom than a place where all races could congregate as equals. It's interesting that the president associated with freeing the slaves, Mr. Lincoln, suffered from mental illness(es).

4. The majority of stereotypes have truth in them, if they didn't they wouldn't be stereotypes. I argue this all the time actually.

5. Maybe in the relatively short time that whites have existed, we abandoned muscle to focus on mind, but if that's true there's not a major difference. Anyway, the average white person has a lot more options than the average black person to succeed. If you're poor you're screwed, and a much higher percentage of blacks than whites are impoverished. The best option for many black males is to be entertainers.

Better analysis than I coudl come up with

You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction.

You call me "Cracker", "Honkey", "Whitey" and even "The Man" and you think it's OK.

But when I call you, "N - word", "beloved patriot", "beloved patriot", "Sand- N word", "comrade", "beloved patriot" or "beloved patriot" you call me a racist.

You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live

You have the United Negro College Fund.
You have Martin Luther King Day.
You have Black History Month.
You have Cesar Chavez Day.
You have Yom Hashoah
You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi
You have the NAACP.
You have BET.

If we had WET(white entertainment television) we'd be racists.

If we had a White Pride Day you would call us racists.

If we had white history month, we'd be racists.

If we had an organization for only whites to "advance" our lives, we'd be racists.

If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships, you know we'd be racists.

In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists.

You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're
not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.

You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us.
But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug-dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist.

I am white.
I am proud.

I didn't write this, just stumbled apon it.

On the other hand, I do think the world would be a much better place if everyone would just mind their own goddam business.

so if someone calls you a white honkey and doesn't give you a job you wouldn't care?

This why these threads are pointless, some turd always comes in and says something ridiculous

Answer to Question #1:
No. I don't care. I don't need anyone to give me anything, never did.
I have an education, talent, drive, and can earn on my own (and consequently do).
If that doesn't get it I can always steal.

Comment:
This thread was 100% turdfree prior to your grace.

I disagree. Racism is the belief that one race is superior than the other, and picking one race over another to attempt to correct problems that may have led to unfortunate situations currently is not racist. No one is assuming the employer is racist.

Affirmative action assumes that both a white and black man are already equaly qualified, so your second point is moot.

A lot of blacks in the US are very large, muscular people whereas blacks in Africa are not as large. I'm not completley sure on this, but I think that selective breeding of slaves produced abnormally large and strong people.

A lot of Asians today are taller and more muscular than their parents or their ancestors who were born in a much poorer environment. The right diet can help you grow a lot.

isnt giving someone something just because of their race racism by definition, regardless of the reasoning behind it?

What would have been your solution to the racial injustices commited against minorities back in the 60's? Do you think racial problems just dissapier? In many parts of the country, minorities are not hired due to their race (I see it everyday).

I'm too lazy to type up the chapter that sets this quote in context, but Zizek's talking about excessive enjoyment in terms of the pleasure principle. It's on page 114 of Conversations with Zizek.

meh when i go to an All-Asian or All-Black place I'm automatically the odd man out, and people have started quite a few fights with me. I suppose its the same the opposite way. In general people need to respect eachother more and respect eeachothers cultures.

I'm "better than you" because your posts have never indicated anything about you other than you are a know-nothing kid with a ****** attitude and vasts amounts of free time in which to share your inane opinions. I have "seniority" over you in which to announce why I feel threads are doomed for failure, based on my 6 years of reading and participating threads on this site, not because of our mutual "personage" statuses.

So you're right, I am your typical message board jerk. But I'm not the utter and complete, overly-dramatic moron who'd comparing the very serious issue of racism in the world with being "picked on" for only being a member on a computer enthusiast message board for 3 months. Maybe you can get Alex Haley to write of your plight as well.

So your username "blackangst1" and the subject of this thread on racism are not at all related? Forgive me if I find that a bit hard to believe.

But you keep fighting, man! Us whites have been suppressed too long! One day, we will rise up!
