Get your hands on any Ferry Corsten set from this year or last year, and you will love it!

You might like Tiesto's sets more, but I prefer Corsten's.

And I've said it a thousand times, and I'll say it again:
Get Oakenfold's "Creamfields" CD, Disc 1 is amazing! (Came out in August of this year, awesome stuff.)

EDIT: And based on your tastes, I'd bet you'd like any Matt Darey "Euphoria" CD. I'd recccomend "Best of Euphoria", probably more to your tastes, with plenty of the mainstream/club trax you've heard in the last few years.

Very true- there's some great stuff on those CDs.

If you missed it when it was release, try Delerium - Silence (Airscape or Tiesto remix), excellent track for someone starting out with trance

He's got lots of songs/albums up for download via bittorrent (which is preferred) but you have to sign up to the forums. Which is not the problem when i click submit it gives me a failed email php error.

thanks for the link though

He'd be considered "drill & bass" a fairly spastic variant of drum & bass. If you like squarepusher, you would also (perhaps) be intrigued by aphex twin.

I like more housey (housy?) stuff myself.

man i used to be into trance big untill all those rather sh!te MOS cd's etc started filling there cds with comercial crap. i have since found radio1 on sat night, well not any more as mr Seb Fontaine no longer plays, im into house, tech house and u cant beat a good bit of techno. recently started listneing to the Dreem Teem on radio 1, they play 3-5 sunday morning..and its nothing but the best funky house, an to top it off they always play classic house tunes from as far back as the early 80's

i love old house music, i love acid house too, i have numerous carl cox mixes from 90' and 93' and 96-98' his best years IMO, erick morillo is also brilliant

seriously trance is abit cheesey now, and house/techno is jus so much better....especially when non of it is played on day time radio

your taste in music is quite similar to mine. Sounds like the UK has some good radio stations for house.

For some cheesy pop vocal trance (which is good in small doses) check out Sylver, Groove Coverage, 4 Strings, Lasgo, etc

Groove Coverage and Lasgo are not even considered trance. Not at all.

*note they are two of my favorite artists I'm not knocking them, but they aren't trance.

radio 1 essential mix is hands down probably one of the best radio shows in the world, hence why its so highly acclaimed.

A good song. It should be noted that "Techno" and "Trance" are different genres.

trance = techno + CHEESE

Depends on what you're listening to. I could list songs forever of stuff that is just amazing, that would blow your mind!

I use the term "trance" lightly to describe them, note the words preceding it.

I used to love that pop stuff but in the past year, my tastes have gone towards the true trance artists, favorites being Gabriel & Dresden, AvB, etc. The vocal cheese is ok once in a while, but I can't handle too much of it.

Lasgo is a bit 'poppy', yea. Groove Coverage I like alot more, its a bit harder, less of a 'britney spears song with a driving beat' type song.

Yeah, I'm with this guy. I used to love those vocal "euro-dance" types of songs. But these days, it's all Corsten/Van Buuren sets for me.

I'm getting live sets every few weeks, and just playing those at work non-stop!
