Wipers and tires are two things on a car I will never cheap out on.

I currently use PIAA Si-Tech wipers. I just replaced them yesterday. The set getting replaced were also PIAA Si-Tech, and they lasted just shy of 2 years. Even the rain repellent kit they come with was only applied once when the wipers were installed and still repelled water to this day, after several car washes too.

They are quite expensive (for wipers), but have yet to have a set that can beat the quality. I paid $91 for the pair.

I buy walmart brand, or whatever catches my attention if I'm not at walmart and want to get wipers. $91 buys a lot of walmart wipers :^D

On my accord i always had bad luck w/ aftermarket wipers causing streaks- i mostly used those frameless ones. So i ended up just buying the oem wiper blade refills and those work w/o any issues. I got in a habit and have been doing the same thing for my lexus vehicles now. They usually last me a year or a little longer...

Frameless wipers have always left streaks for me. I quit buying the expensive ones and moved back to ~$5 Michelin branded ones from Walmart, as I find they last just about as long and do just about the same job.

Many things can cause wiper blade problems.

Wiper arm tension too much
Wiper arm tension not enough
Environment - dirt roads and such will wear out a wiper much sooner

I have tried most all the brands and found little difference. I tend to keep going back to a winter wiper (rubber encased) and as for brand, it would be Goodyear which Costco was selling last week for $6 for one. They come with all the necessary adapters.

Also, using a product like Rain-X will help your wipers last longer because under many conditions, the water will just flow off your windshield without using your wipers. Thus, your wipers will be used about 25 to 50% less, when using Rain-X.

Even better, get the Walmart store brand. It's made by Anco and cost even less. In six months you'll replace most wiper blades, but you don't need to spend a lot.

Generally whatever is cheap. We get very little rain and the summer destroys the wipers anyways.

OEM wipers almost always work the best, everything else is a crapshoot. If you want something longer lasting, try name brand silicone refills ~$10 and you can usually find at least one that wipes just as well.

Whatever Mercedes puts on my car.
Whatever Cadillac puts on my car. Part of the CPO maintenance deal.
I am glad they work well, streak free. I don't want to replace something that someone else is doing for free/price included with purchase.

That's like saying i only buy the best quality headphones... beats.
What am I missing? Granted, $90 for wipers is excessive by any standard it doesn't mean you should cheap out on them.

FWIW I use oem and they tend to last 2-3 years in the Socal sun. Not complaining.

I would use OEM, I recall they worked well when I bought the car new. However, I now drive the car in the snow and hate dealing with frames on wipers and snow/ice.

Wow, $50 for 5 minutes of work to install $10 worth of parts. I'm in the wrong line of work

That's because practically nobody would buy them. They're just a strip of rubber with some steel to give rigidity. You have to really hunt to find wipers that expensive.

and $300 for the battery. Silly.

Part of the $286 I paid for the 30k mile service. It included a loaner car though which was a 2016 C300 sedan which I really don't care for. I guess it's better than waiting around for them to change my oil.
