Yeah the CSR's treated me like a thief, as well. They threw away one of the rebates but gave me one. Sounds like more or less the same baloney you guys got. They explained it all but I didn't even pay attention to their B.S., I just took what they gave me and beat it, because I knew I had already downloaded all of the rebates I needed, anyway. Life is too short to pay heed to such automatrons.

I ordered this CC online & picked it up from my local CC. I had no trouble with the PM, but no rebate forms printed out!
So I will rely on the froms I printed out from the website too! Thanks heartsurgeon for the post & dsng0403 for the additional links!

Not that I know of. I usually have to order online and choose the pick-up option and PM in the store when you go there. They might do PMs on the phone, but I don't think so, b/c they didn't do one for me when I called a few months back.

I issued them to all of my users at my company and they love these things. So useful.

Looks like I am screwed unless one of you can help.

Seems CC sliced up the package when putting it in security shelf box, and the UPC was destroyed.
I don't have a one to copy for the two $15 rebates, let alone the $10 original UPC one.

If someone would email me a copy of their UPC, I could at least get $30 back.
Otherwise, looks like I'll be returning package to store for refund.

Thanks in advance,
Rob

(edit.. removed email. returning memory stick, as too much trouble to go through)

Id try taking it back to the store and explaining about the UPC code being messed up and not being able to use it for rebate. Surely they would switch out the box for you...as long as you have a receipt.

kinda OT but, I am wondering if any of you were able to format this to NTFS. I am using a 128mb sandisk cruzer, I find with XP and USB 2.0 the performance of these drives is very poor ( slow copy) . Right clicking and format gives me only FAT format options as does disk management under administrative tools. has any one tried to format their drive to NTFS yet ?

EDIT:
n/m i was able do it in windows 2000. You might want to do that too as the copy speeds are much faster when compared to FAT

Thanks, but the idiots cut the side off every box (only 2 in stock) so that the media would fit into the security container.
Neither have UPC code.

Figured it would be easy for someone to email me a scan, but I guess not.
Thanks anyway. Nothing actually lost.
Will just return it for refund and hope the $9 ones pop up again soon.

If the UPC was damaged I don't understand how they could sell it to you. Don't they have to scan it? I would help you with a scan but I do not have one.

I saw the cut boxes prior to purchase, and took one along with the shelf price tag (with a UPC code on it) to counter.
Asked if they had any without damaged UPC codes, and they said what was on the shelf was it.
They said they would give me the rebate instantly, out the door at $69.99.
They would not pricematch RS after rebate price of $59.99.
Thought I could get a scan of rebates from here to complete deal, since scanned rebates are allowed.
Would have been $39.99, which is why it's no big deal to return item for refund.
Hope that makes more sense now.

Just tried it , and it worked! Looks like it is about 10% faster now.

Rossman:

I may be wrong, but aren't all new USB drives bootable, depending on the system? IE, if you can go into the BIOS and enable 'USB boot device', then the drive can be booted from.

Just got the PM.

Now the question is, do I send in the original receipt?
Or the after PM receipt?
(I bought yesterday, went back and did the PM).

People over the FW are PM'ing to COMPUSA for cheaper?
According to the thread, COMPUSA has it for $49.99 after $30 IR which in itself is a pretty good price.
For them, it comes to $8 + taxes :Q

Though the website shows it for $89.99

The one they are using for the PM is NOT the SAME item. It's slightly different and they are tricking the CSR's to get the PM. The PM to Radioshack is legitimate.

Just did the price match.
The 256meg Lexar at CompUSA for $49.99 is the exact same one as the one at CC and RS. (same UPC at all three)
Went to Compusa first to confirm just that, and also to confirm it was in stock, and get ad.
Next went across the street to CC (a different one than my earlier post), and they price matched without question.
For some reason they didn't give me 10% off the difference, and I didn't ask.
CC did say they would throw out the rebates since they pricematched.

End price after internet rebate forms is $49.99 (+$3.50 tax) - $15 - $15 - $10 = $9.99 + tax

At compusa.com:

JumpDrive Secure 256MB USB Flash Drive $49.99 after $30 MIR
JumpDrive Pro 256MB USB 2.0 Flash Drive $89.99 (no rebate)

The item that we're talking about purchasing is the 2nd. So hence, the CSR's are being fooled.

Sorry, but look on the right side of CompUSA paper ad, and it's listed in big bold print as JumpDrive Pro 256MB USB 2.0 Flash Drive $49.99 after instant.

Then go to the shelf that they are on, and you will see a 6" by 6" sign saying the same thing!!!

It IS the exact same thing!!!!!

I can see the confusion if you are looking at ad on the internet.
Internet ad is wrong.
The item in the store is the JumpDrive Pro 256MB USB 2.0 Flash Drive.
They have several in stock at Clearwater FLA location.
(but CC is now OOS there. Citrus Park has plenty. Port Richey has missing UPC)).
