Now I am having some doubts about item at CompUSA.
I only saw the USB 2.0 drive, but that's all I was looking for, and ad was right upon those.
Did not attempt to buy at that price.

More checking shows the difference in UPC code is JD256231 Vs JDS256231. JD"S"
Perhaps the Internet was correct, and the store made same mistake I might have made?
CompUSA is 20 miles from here, and I've messed with this enough to get a good deal.
Hopefully it is Internet error, and store price is correct.
It would only be $10 less than RS, so it is in the ballpark.

They explained it all but I didn't even pay attention to their B.S., I just took what they gave me and beat it, because I knew I had already downloaded all of the rebates I needed, anyway. Life is too short to pay heed to such automatrons.

Yeah CC is the suck. They've always treated me poorly when I've tried to do PMs. That just makes it all the more rewarding when I do manage to get my PM.

Yeah, the items are slightly different. I was able to get the PM though because CompUSA's ad basically describes the item for sale incorrectly. I got 110% of the difference so after rebates I'll end up around $30. Not a bad deal I think.

Had no problems doing the PM with the RS printout last night at the Lewisville, TX store...had a couple left on the shelf...

Thanks...

I can only imagine the whipping I would have gotten if I had tried to PM to CompUSA 's $49.99 price, considering the way the CSR's treated me when PMing to RS's $69.99 number

Thanks for the tip guys, I wanted in to see if CircuitCity would PM the CompUSA $50 USB drive, I went in and tried it and after a little sweet talking and what not, they PM'ed the CompUSA $50 (and gave me 10% of the difference) sale onto the USB2 Jump Drive, which brought my total to $47.01 tax included, and they printed out the CC rebates for another $30. Along with the $10 Lexar rebate from the original post, so my total was brought down to $7.01....well if you want to get technical it's $7.01 + 3 stamps, 3 envelopes, and my time. Bust seriously to get the 256MB USB2 Jump Drive for under $10, I really have to thank you guys for sharing the info.

I've been wanting one of these USB2 drives for so long b/c it'd make taking smaller files to and from work (and everywhere else) so much easier, but I didn't want to shell out big bucks for it. I'm so happy I got one for a great price.

Thanks

What I did so I wouldn't lose any caps is thread some fish line through the key chain hole, then through a gap in the clip part of the cap and tied it off. That way, when I am using the drive the cap just dangles from it.

I've been thinking of doing the same thing, cause I always just drop the cap when I'm using it and then have to look around for a minute or two when I need it. I don't know maybe I could just me more organized and always put it in the same place, but that's not about to happen

From the material I got with mine: Windows XP and 2000 don't need any drivers to recognize this. You need to download a driver from their website for Win98.

I tried to use a Micro Advantage 128 USB Quickie Drive at school the other night and found that the network &*^&%$ had locked their computers so that no devices could be installed. Beware if you plan to use these on machines controled by others.
