I just picked this stick up a few days ago to replace my now cramped 256MB stick. Since I never use any of the software on the memory, I just formated it with NTFS within Vista64, figuring if I needed the software for any reason, I could DL it from Lexar's site.

Lexar advertises the innovative capacity indicator that displays the current % capacity in a simple 10 block meter. Its not really a big deal to me, but I just noticed that its stuck. There's only about 300MB on the 1GB stick right now, and the meter reads about 60%. If I copy the data off and format it, it still reads as 60% full after the fresh format.

If I need to have additional software installed to make this work, that seems kinda dumb as they advertise the feature as independent of the computer.

USB NAND drives aren't supposed to be NTFS formatted, they are supposed to be FAT. That's most likely your problem.

myocardia is correct.......... the stick will function with an NTFS partition, but the logic inside to run the display only works with FAT/FAT32...... the same is true for other flash drives with capacity displays, such as the Corsair Readout............. the display blanks out if the drive is NTFS formatted.............

Alright, I reformatted the drive to FAT32, replaced my data and reinstalled my portable apps. The indicator still seems to be stuck.

Its not a big deal, the memory still works the way its supposed to.
