seems good even refurbed... the compact flash card must not have much capacity as they seem not to want to mention how many MB it holds... 8 or 16MB? but solid state media like CF shouldn't be a bad buy even if refurbed. what you're really buying though is the universal media reader: reads CF, smartmedia, and PC cards (and comes with PC card adapter).

Hmmm... as far as I can see there's no actual CF card included in the package. Just the CF/SM/PC card reader, the USB cable, and the adapter. In other words, they probably don't mention a capacity because it's "0MB".

There is a CF only reader there for $5.99 as well ... unless you use both might as well save a couple bucks that way.

Doh. I guess i totally misread the title to mean a combo package. Oh well, i'm on semester break so i'm not supposed to have to think. peace

This was at Walmart on clearance for $20 brand new. I bought one and took it back. This is old technology it only reads type I CF and smartmedia. And the whole thing with PCMICA looks cumbersome, that is you have stick the CF into the PCMICA card and then stick CF/ PCMICA into the reader.

Save your money and get a "6 in1 reader"when a good deal come back around again.

i bought this from them when it was $10. this combo reader is really slow ... and i think this is because the data has to go through the PCMICA card first and then through USB.

i also have their lexar jumpshot cable and it is significantly faster then this combo reader. i would recommend the CF only reader that goes through USB (the $12.50 one) because of the speed issue. for less than 20 bucks without rebate, it's a decent deal.

(do not get the lexar jumpshot cable unless you know for certain that your CF card is USB-enabled. if it does not say USB enabled (or is a lexar card) then it probably is not and it won't work)

I never did see the point in "6 in 1 readers." Do some of you people have six different digital cameras/mp3 players which use 6 different memory types?

I only need this for my digital camera which uses CF, what would I do with the other 5 slots?
