For those who owns small Biz and require to print professional letterhead. At average $150 per 1000 page charge for 1 color letterhead by Staples or OfficeDepot, you will be looking to pay around $30 + paper for 1000 page w/ this machine.

Starter kit prints only 3000 pages. Later on, $90 black toner will yield around 10,000 pages.

Only question I have is......is there cheaper, better Color Laser out there?

Cheaper? Not that I've seen, except old USED models which will require EXPENSIVE parts soon.

Better? I'd rather have a Xerox, or a HP 4550C. BIG price diff tho!

I drooled over this printer on Dell's site once when they had some deals to get the price down to this ballpark.

I wish I had the cash, I am still in need of a printer. STILL out of toner in mine...been like 6 months now at least!

We have this printer at our office. We were going to get a Minolta -QMS but I suggested we get the Lexmark which at the time was 1400, about 500 cheaper than the minolta. It turned out to be a troublesome printer. Technicians came 3 times to fix it before they got it right. They replaced all sorts of stuff, including the motherboard. This was after our IT folks spent hours trying to fix the problem.

Now it works OK. Takes a LONG time to warm up but fast when warm. It is also noisy, but what the heck, it's not in my office. Colors are good for charts and would serve well for letterhead but don't do well with photos. I think it is because we haven't set our computers up properly to use the printer for photos. The test print prints out awesome photos, so I know the capability is there.

However, for 675, this is an amazing deal. I would say one of the hottest deals so far this year.

OTR, the 3 service calls could have been been because of a poor technician. Kinda sounds like it...

Ever wait for a HP Color LJ to warm up? It is far from quick.

(I have never seen one of these lexmarks but I have dealt with a handfull of HP's.)
