Really? Has this been a common thing for the cheapie Lexmarks?

My kids have been beating the daylights out of a Lexmark Z22 since the summer of 2000 and it just keeps going.

I got that printer for my mom. The quality is actually pretty good. I was impressed. I printed a few test sheets and was surprised at how quiet it was.

That's why I won't buy another Lexmark, even free the printer is too expensive.

But wouldn't the school's then be screwed over from the costs of the expensive ink carts? School budgets are already tight enough that they probably don't need to squander a fortune just to use the printers.

Please don't buy these if you're going to use once and throw away--The environmental cost is too high. (As mentioned above--Don't donate them either unless you hate the charity.) In fact--just don't buy it--period
