Please be aware that the replacement cartridges are around $30 each !! I did a quick google search but can't find any generic cartridges. I would love to jump on the deal but the lack of inexpensive catridges kill the deal for me... I will wait for an epson deal which usually have very cheap ($4) replacement cartridge.... I bought this cheap printer to replace my 5 years old HP printer which is out of ink now and this Lexmark has better resolution and cheaper than buying the refill.

All this stuff for $12 after MIR's is a good deal since the printer cartridges alone are worth that much. I know Lexmark cartridges are expensive so I'll probably try to drill and refill them when they need it. If that fails, it goes out to the trash! I'm not paying $20-30 for new cartridges!
On another note I noticed that the rebates state that they must have the ORIGINAL RECEIPT for each item. This is a problem since when you order over the phone or online you only get 1 receipt or packing form in the box. Guess I'll be calling the rebate houses to find out what to do.
Any ideas?

Received the printer, one issue is it only comes with 1 color cartridge, so very probably money has to be spent on a black cartridge.

Can someone please tell me if the color cartridge that comes with this Lexmark Z13 Printer is a full cartridge or one of those "starter cartridges" that are only 1/4 full?

Obviously with the cartridges going for $30 a pop, it becomes less of a deal if the cartridge isn't even full.

According to this, the Z13 only has one cartridge carrier (unlike some models, such as the Epson 880 which have two carriers, and if you are out of either one of the black or color ink cartridges, then you must replace it before you can print).

As far as I know, you can print black using the color cartridge, it'll just use all the colors to make black...however, I think that it uses a lot more ink that way (someone please verify or correct me).

it's looking like it's actually cheaper to buy a new printer than to buy new ink carts. i know that's why i got in on this deal... i have an HP 720c that went dry on me, tried to refill the carts, but it didn't work. so for $20 after rebate it's cheaper to get a new printer than to buy new ink for my hp ($30/each for ink, so ~$60 total). just hope the ink in this one lasts awhile.
