One thing to say about acura though, ive love their service. (it definately varies from dealer to dealer, but the one my dad goes to is top notch).

Same with Infiniti dealers. The service you get is outstanding.

Do I have to bring the car to the same dealership I bought from for service or can I go to any Acura dealer?
The local dealership is only 5 miles away but I didn't buy from them because of the salesman.
The dealer I bought from is 20 miles away.

I live in NJ too, and I simply must know. What dealer sucked, and what dealer nailed the sale?

BTW, welcome to the Acura family!!

<---TL owner, who's still waiting for someone to show him a better deal in the 31K range.

Open Road Acura in East Brunswick lost me as a customer because of a pushy salesman.
Initially he was friendly and professional as he took me out on a test drive. I let him spew his sales pitch without interrputing or correcting his technical errors.
When it came down to talking price, I told him I was still cross-shopping a few other cars and wasn't exactly ready to buy today.
He was supposed to look for leftover '05 TSX in the exact configuration I wanted but he was reluctant to do so unless I committed at that moment, implying I was not worth his time.

I then read on the Acura forums that some guy was getting basically $300 over invoice on the '06 TSX from Springfield Acura and went to Bridgewater Acura to do a PM
He told me from the start he couldn't as good as that but would try to come as close as possible. He gave me the keys to the TSX and let me go without him accompanying me which was cool. At the end of the day, although I could've gotten a slightly better price, he got the sale because of his professionalism.

Man thats wierd... I was at Bridgewater Acura this morning hoping for a test of the TSX. They didn't have any of the 2006s yet and the only 2005 left were stick. I unfortunately do not know how to drive .

Also who did you speak to? PM me if you think they are lurking on atot.

Woah, hey, you guys are in my area (I live just south of Bridgewater in Hillsborough). And I just happened to be test-driving an Acura today too. It's used though... '03 TL Type-S.

(Oh hey - does anyone know what octane that takes? )

I was going to buy one of the 03 TL's but there were too many horror stories floating around about transmission issues. I ended up getting a G35 which in my opinion was so much superior in terms of power and build and it being a RWD.

Yeah, I've read about that... but they extended the warranty on the transmission to 7 years/100k miles, so I'm not too terribly worried about that.

I honestly was only in the market for the TSX due to budget constraints but went to check out the G and the IS just for giggles.

And I did check out the sedan. The '06 G35x on the showroom floor was very nice and very $$$.
A comparably equipped G35 with nav would've been closer to $35k, and Acura's nav in the TSX is superior to the one in the G35 (although the M35 nav is better than both).
The roominess, better leather and overall feel of the car justified the extra cash that I just was not going to fork over.

They were not budging on the price of the IS and the rear space was too small to be practical for my uses. Add nav and it also would've been mid $30's.

Did you drive all of these cars? Because I would hardly consider sitting in a car sufficient experience to formulate an educated opinion. I agree though, TSX with a manual would be my choice. If I was forced to go auto I'd choose the G35.

Did I miss something? Your title is Lexus/Infiniti>Acura and then you decide to go buy and Acura?!!? "Folks, my benchmarks all point to AMD, therefore I decided to buy an Intel".

There is a night and day difference between the TSX and the TL. I had a loaner TSX for about a week while waiting for some maintenance work on my TL. It was nice at first, just because it was different. But man when I got my TL back..I realized just what I had been missing. The interior is amazing, drives better, more comfortable on long drives, etc. I love my TL.

Both were 05's btw.

Nope.. bmw 3 are a lot higher with similar things added.

Suckered into an overpriced accord. Whats the return policy on the TSX if you don't like it?

lexus/infiniti > acura = true; amd > intel = true

but intel $ > amd $, thats why you buy amd, its cheaper but it just turns out amd performance better. Thats why you buy acura, its cheaper.. Sure everything else is better but you just can't afford it

6 speed w/Nav - $28,000 before tax.
He's throwing in the usual locks, mats, splash guards, etc. things that cost them next to nothing that I don't care for.

Wasn't suckered into getting anything. It's what I wanted, I did my research.
IMHO, the Accord is beyond ugly and I would not get it.
If I wanted a family sedan, I'd go Mazda6 or Altima before the Accord.

U do not want the 6.. it was rated the one of the most unsafe car... you might not survive a crash. I do like the altima better..

I love the TSX. I think if I didn't get my RSX-S, I would've gotten the TSX 6spMT obviously though.

nice car, its definitley a pretty good value, I'm considering the TSX and also a E90 3 series and a IS250/350. I'm not too keen on driving a very expensive accord, same reason I dislike the TL and ES330, but I'm sure the TSX handles better than both of those. But I'll have to test drive it and see

The interior of the G35 sucks a$$. It's looks and feels cheap. The g35 was my first choice in cars, but after riding in the TL, it was hands down winner. The G35 sedan looked way too ugly. The coupe on the other hand, looked hot. But I wasn't in the market for a coupe unfortunetly. In terms of performance and handling, the g35 won me over, but in the end the TL sold me on looks and value. Very high tech car, or at least it was when I bought it back in early 04.

The Type-S uses premium, just like the TL does now.

that's only if you do not have the side airbag option on the mz3 and mz6.

no side airbags = prepared to be owned when T-boned.
