I'm sorry, what new car has 500HP for <$40K? GT500 is closer to $50K.not for the price point it's not.. that's the issue .. 500+ HP can be had for under 40k now..

I did and said no such thing! Read my post at the top of this page, it doesn't say stang or cobra anywhere. I just said Id love to run into one. Whether I waste it at a light or a roll doesn't make it any less of the car that it is or devalue it in any way.
I'm not selling anything, I'm just hoping I run into one and he tries. Nothing is more rewarding than laying waste to a big bad exotic that costs 10x more than your car, doesn't matter what you drive!
Tell me you wouldn't get excited if your Sky had 600 HP and you saw Lamborghini in your mirror aggressively trying to catch up and get next to you

LFA is for people who want others to know that Ferraris and Lambos are too common and below them, but they can't get a Veyron
It would be better, in drag racing and top speed. Doesn't mean anything else and doesn't mean you don't want a Lambo.
Personally Id rather be in the Lambo, and winning. Id be upset if I had to leave the Lambo at home and had to drive the Cobra just to keep people from bending me over
Or because driving it doesn't cost as much as a large house... have you seen how much a tire change costs? Even the Saudi's are ditching them.
Its just much harder to swallow a half million dollar Toyota than it would be a Lamborghini, Rolls, Maybach, etc
9k RPM, like a Honda S2000
Yeah, I don't understand that either. It's like hating a Ford GT because it's a Ford and shares the name with the Focus. I mean I understand there's a high level of brand snobbery, but not from you guys... right?
Ford GT isn't $400,000. A Lamborghini isnt even $400,000.

There is the difference between us:
I'd still take the Lambo out. Even if I knew there was 50 Cobras out there looking to embarass me.
That's how it is in the US. I know someone who is one of those upper class wanna be snob types who doesn't care about the merits of a car, just the name. She was bitter and pissed off that our Avalon was better than her Lexus in every way, but instead of just trading her car for an Avalon she HAD to have that Lexus emblem. She tried to talk us into getting a Neon or something instead, god was she bitter when we got the Avalon. More horsepower, roomier interior, more doodads, quieter, everything. And she couldn't have one, only because of the self imposed exile from "oh ma gawd... a... common Toyota.." and chose to be a sour bitter old fart in her shitty Lexus.

Ford GT isn't $400,000. A Lamborghini isnt even $400,000. The engine in a Ford GT and Lamborghini can't be found in a Rav 4 (yes I'm exaggerating, only slightly)

Had to go and ruin my fantasy that a car that cost 1/30th the amount could have some relation to the supercar.Yeah, except it makes more torque at the start of the pull than the S2k does at peak

All in all if you have the nerve to ask $400,000 for a car, especially if you are trying to make your first entry into the segment, you better beat them in everything. Saying "we have better seats than Lamborghini" does not excuse having 100 hp less, etc.
Comparing this car to a Mustang is retarded. Compare it to Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Aston Martins that are all better in many areas, and still half the p price.
But we've already established this car isn't about performance or competing with other cars, its about being able to say you bought a $400,000 car in addition to the cheaper better cars you are already on the waiting list for.
I never knew F150s had 4 cams, 32 valves, dry sump oil system, all aluminum engine, and a supercharger. In fact I didn't know there were any other aluminum 5.4 blocks other than the GT until the '11 GT500.
I think it was more about a dyno run and the music of a v10, at least that was how it started anyway. All in all if you have the nerve to ask $400,000 for a car, especially if you are trying to make your first entry into the segment, you better beat them in everything. Then again if the performance and engine power of this car isn't whats important, why is this thread made about a dyno run and horsepower? :awe:
