Officially the port is stated to run at 50hz @ 3440x1440. On a whim I decided to use EVGA precisions pixel overclock utility to see what I could get the refresh rate up to.
Viola, 60 hz. was reachable and the difference was immediately noticeable. All you have to do is drag windows around the desktop to feel the difference.
Admittedly I've always run the screen via displayport but I've had to disable sleep since my pc would always fail to wake. For me this has been a long battle with displayport and various screens and cards.
I will be switching over to hdmi since I like to use sleep.
