LG G2 Refuses To Charge Suddenly

I've loved my LG G2 but yesterday I tried to charge it and it said the cable wasn't compatable and said to plug it into the factory charger/cord. The factory one has long since worn out and I'm using a nice cord bought off Amazon, in fact I've tried 3 cords and 3 different USB sources (PC, Car charger and wall charger) and they give me this error.

I looked in the charge port and did fish out a decent sized piece of wood splinter that I guess was in my pocket. I blew it out with compressed air as well. Still no worky.

Any ideas? I'm going to the Verizon store tommorow but I got a feeling they're going to tell me tough shit. I'm actually due for an upgrade since I still have an old plan however my wife is getting to the point where she really needs a phone as well and her upgrade isn't until May of 2016. I was hoping to give my upgrade to her and make the LG G2 last until May.

I loved my G2 until one day the screen stopped working around the #1 key. Then it moved to half the left side of the screen.

Well my wife finally got it charging by sitting there and repeatedly plugging it in. Its now fully charged. Not sure if it will keep doing this or go back to normal.

My brother says the internal USB connector can be replaced. He has done it for an LG G2 before.

I've repaired these phones for other people and I keep having a similar problem with the Verizon version. I don't get a message but the phone will not charge. It just buzzes regularly when it goes dead or is turned off and plugged in. At least two different ones brought to me for screen replacements have had this problem on and off. Sometimes I had to take it apart and fiddle for hours to get it to work. Even after replacing batteries and motherboards and charge ports one of them continues to do it every now and then.

Yah, clean the charge port. Failing that replacing the USB port isn't a huge deal. You can get the parts on ebay.

Best solution for verizon users is that version has Qi wireless charger. Just buy a pad and charge it wirelessly. For others you can buy the qi and put it in for $15.

Well its getting worse, last night I tried plugging it in probably 100 times with no luck. I ordered a mint condition LG G3 on Ebay for $180. I may try to get this one fixed and cleared out to sell.

You know whats funny, I kinda thought of that. I've had it for almost exactly 2 years.

My charging port is fine, but I've had the phone just over 2 years and I just dropped it the other day cracking the screen and rendering the top third completely useless. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!

Dunno about this specific phone, but others I have taken apart are highly modular, nothing soldered in assembly. Use a tray so small parts aren't lost, follow a guide, buy the parts and some pry tools off ebay.
