I don't expect the nexus phones to be below $300 though

(nexus 6 was $650, nexus 5 was $350)

probably going to be $450/$500 (and $550/$600, if we have two nexus devices)

I hope you're wrong, hoping for $350 32GB/$400 64GB for the 5.2"

Can't imagine that LG (any more than Motorola) wants a Nexus device to overly cannibalize their own flagships. I think the days of selling phones at cost are over - whether it be the One Plus Two or the next Nexus devices.

I'm guessing the new phablet will go for $600 and $650. Wouldn't surprise me if the standard Nexus goes for $500 and $550.

I don't understand the love for the G2 at this point in time..especially at a 300 price point. For 200 dollars probably...but 300 no way.

Save up an additional 50 dollars and buy a Galaxy S5 for 350 on Swappa. Superior phone no question.

Just stick with 4.4 instead of 5.X for either phone.

Don't we all. I think Google learned their lesson with the Nexus 6. That one has had poor sales, and a lot of initial pushback on the price.

I don't think size is the issue.

I think price point is the issue.

They wanted flagship pricing (650$+) for a phone that could not hold its own at that level. Nexus flaws are passable under 500 dollars, but not under 600 dollars.

I am OK with $350 for Nexus, if camera is good.

You literally made me fall out of my chair laughing! A Nexus phone with a good camera is like a iPhone running an open source OS!

Maybe, just maybe, the focus on Google photos will change that this year. But every other clue we have tells us Google doesn't give a crap about photography. Hell they outsourced their vanity camera project (the VR stuff) to Go Pro. That doesn't give me hope that the Nexus will have that 12MP OIS shooter that makes an iPhone look bad.

Optics don't have a Star Trek factor, physics limit the capabilities to 1970s knowledge almost. Google is all about software and being on the cutting edge of possible.

Best Buy was selling their G2s brand new for $150 just a couple weeks ago. Brand new on eBay looks like $200 and customer return is $170.

I would buy the T-mobile version new for under $200. But I see they are $240 from B&H.

Was Nexus 6 Camera bad too?

G2 doesn't have VoLTE or band 12 for T-mobile...

You know, if LG released an updated version that fixed those two issues they'd have a hit. I loved my G2, and so did a lot of other people. Down-firing speaker (none of this rear-firing junk), perfect screen size and resolution, amazing performance AND battery life....probably the closest to "perfect" a phone has ever been.

I have been quite happy with the N6 camera personally. It is way better than what I had on my Note 2, and I get better shots than on my wife's S5. The camera is certainly limited compared to most flagship priced phones however (no burst mode, etc.) but the picture quality has been quite good for me.

yeah

I might actually "downgrade" myself from a Nexus 5 to a Moto G 2015 (16GB 2GB version)

has microSD, battery life is great (need more reviews), has nexus6's sensor, water resistant, front facing dual speakers, developer friendly (most likely unlocked bootloader)... downgrade in CPU isnt' a huge concern for me

dunno if it has WiFi calling or VoLTE, probably not. could be a worthy alternative to the LG G2

No WiFi calling, because T-mobile isn't carrying it.

If you don't want the G2, the Moto X is a good buy. The 2014 model can be had for $299 new. Pretty great deal. Camera is alright and battery life is serviceable but that's some pretty killer specs for $300. 2013 Model can be had for under $200
