Interesting....

"as many as five manufacturers"

Digitimes corroborated the WSJ by reporting that Google has allowed “branded vendors to set hardware specifications as well as looks of the forthcoming Nexus smartphones,” as long as they use a vanilla version of Android (i.e. no OEM or carrier bloatware).

Had not realised that. I heard rumblings about Sony & LG, but not anything further.

oh well.. October 29! Unless this source is completely full of it.

Nice. Lg's hardware has always been fairly good but their absolutely terrible software has kept me from considering them in the past. If these get updates direct from Google like Nexus' have in the past it should be great.

Decent. It seems the previous leaks have been pretty dead on. Would have preferred 4.3" though.

Nexus is the only Android line worth giving a crap about. I'm interested to see the other 4 models if there end up being more, although it'd take a lot to get me to upgrade from my current Nexus. I don't need more ram or faster CPU.

This will pretty much decide whether I am staying with android or switching back to iOS. This better be good.

If it has at least 16 GB storage and is unlocked GSM I'll buy one launch day. I barely use any storage at all on my GNex (400 MB of pictures, 2.3 GB of apps) and I'm at just under 8 GB free out of 16. So I'd be completely out of space on an 8 GB phone and I use far less space than most people I know.

Very much looking forward to quad/2GB though I will miss AMOLED. For all its weaknesses the contrast is just delicious.

Why the heck is there so much wasted space at the top and bottom of the phone?

You may not need to put up with LG's UI software, but you'll probably have to use their drivers.

I would kill for five new Nexus devices, but I don't want them to be all high end.

LG gets the flagship 4.7" 720p s4 pro with 2 gigs of ram.

Motorola builds a 4.3" nexus based off the Razr M.

Samsung does a 4.0" baseline nexus built off the Galaxy S3 mini.

Two other OEM's do a 7" and a 10" tablet, and bam we've got a full lineup of stock android phones at all different pricepoints, I think that would be much more desirable than five high end devices.

If there was going to be more than one Nexus device released in a reasonable time frame from now, we would have heard about it already. Unless it's just stock software for already released hardware, I think we are only going to see one Nexus device this holiday season.

Thats my first exact thought.
Looks exactly like the Samsung galaxy nexus.
I love the Optimus G so much primarily because it has so little bezels.

I wouldn't necessarily call it wasted. I'm assuming that they're able to put a larger battery in due to the increase in physical size.

the razr m has a jay leno chin on the bottom that seems very unnecessary, its not like they have electronics in the pointy part. so why?

That SoC owns my GNex, the camera and the display should be much better as well. Curious about battery life. These specs are pretty much guaranteed to run 5.0 as intended when it comes out. IMO the only thing to do now is to wait for Exynos 5, compare it vs S4 Pro and hope to find a good looking match with stock Andoid, will likely have to resort to buying outright/importing. I have no problem with paying ~$500 for that whole package I'm looking for, at that price point I shouldn't have to wait too long after launch.

There's an article on phonearena that the Nexus 4 will be sold in the Google store for $399 with 8gb.
Don't know if there will be a SD card but that's an awesome price.
I'm probably one of a few people that don't mind 8gb.

If there truly was 5 devices then we would have seen more leaks.

1-Nexus 7, Asus
2-Nexus 4, LG
3-Rumored Samsung 10" Nexus tablet
that leaves 2 more.
I don't think anything said 5 Nexus phones, but 5 Nexus devices seems more plausible.

1. There has never been any good evidence that there will be multiple Nexus phones. Just some random rumours.

2. If the LG Nexus 4 is the only Nexus phone to be released, I'll probably buy an iPhone 5, unless there is no solution to the borked Yahoo! email issue in iOS 6. I have no strong interest in a 4.7" phone.

The 10 inch Nexus rumor has zero credibility at the moment. It was leaked by Digitimes

Even the iPad Mini rumor is more legit with casings being leaked out in the wild and multiple confirmations from AllthingsD and WSJ.

Right now you have 1 released Nexus device and 1 Nexus prototype leaked with not much time left until November

8gb and no expandable storage is terrible. And no LTE support?

The hell? Why go backwards in function?
