The 8GB thing just boggles the mind. I don't understand it at all. Memory is so dirt cheap these days. Why choose that to cut corners on? Even if you want to stream all of your music and video, 8GB is just not enough.

$399 would be awesome price for 16 GB. They could price the 8gb at $350 and drop the current Galaxy Nexus to $299.

I hope it's pentaband. It's awesome to be not tied down to a contract and able to jump between T-Mobile and AT&T.

8gb and no expandable storage is terrible. And no LTE support?

The hell? Why go backwards in function?

Im guessing thats the only way they could sell it at 399 and make a profit given the phones specs. Most likely the 16/32GB versions will be sold subsidized through carriers

Well, as I am on Verizon until 11/2013, I will be skipping this round of Nexus. No LTE is a poor choice. & anything under 16gb is pure stupidity. Even if I wasn't on Verizon, no way would I get an 8gb phone.

I refuse to beleive that it was due to costs. We're talking like $5 worth of flash memory here to go from 8 to 16 gig.

No LTE is not poor choice. It's smart choice. You can't use LTE with prepaid. I'm sure if there is AT&T and Sprint version, it will have LTE.

Nexus on Verizon was a failed experiment. Verizon might not see another Nexus for a very long time.

Having no LTE is a deal-killer. For me, no LTE = no sale. It really is as simple as that.

Sure you can. Just because you can't on your carriers doesn't mean it LTE can't be used with prepaid anywhere.

I had been thinking about upgrading to this from my Galaxy S2, but I don't think I can go from 16GB expandable to 8GB non-expandable memory.

Why does google hate sd cards so much?

People need to calm down about the storage, I'm sure it's either only 8gb for the prototype or there will be other options. As for LTE, if they have any carrier locked phones it'll have LTE but the generic GSM won't, just like with the gnexus.

Do we know the frequencies so we can tell if it works on t-mobile? (which lacks lte currently.)

Any news for larger storage sizes?

Isn't the memory on these things usually part of the SoC stack? Maybe they're using SoCs that would otherwise be unusable? (not on the die but physically stacked... or are they using PCB space for flash?)

I just can't believe they would release an 8 GB device. I'll probably still pick one up (eliminating all the games that I never play anyway will make it workable) but I should not have to actively manage my storage when I don't carry any media with me.

Not being pentaband would be another major step backwards. Given the steady progression of Nexus so far it would be a horrible misstep if these rumors are accurate.

the prototypes seen so far have been tri-band hspa with support for AWS, so yes, they would work on tmobile.

I don't care one bit about LTE, but I am concerned a little with the 8GB and no expandable storage.

If it does come out with 16 GB and pentaband at $400, this is very likely going to be my next phone.

OT: Just curious, is the iPhone 5 on Verizon the only LTE (aka 4G) phone that also supports GSM (for international use)? I have a Verizon LTE Galaxy Nexus and if I travel abroad I have to either borrow or buy a new GSM phone to use. I'd love to have a true international phone that supports LTE.

I know the Droid 4 and Razr are both global. I believe the S3 is as well?

There better be a Nexus phone coming with at least a 32gig option or microSD slot. Why are we moving backwards with storage space? Why do these manufacturers keep taking away what used to set Android devices apart?
