I know, I know. It's no iPhone killer. I never wanted to kill the iPhone in the first place. What it is is a full touchscreen on ATT service, with a qwerty, and I am able to get one for a cheaper price.
The LG Vu seems to be a love it or hate it phone.
Some websites review it as "stylish and responsive," while others review it as, "clunky and sluggish." People will review it differently on what they have previously owned. Just as I would tell you SE is one of the best brands out there, some people would hate my SE phones because they love Motorola.
I would like to hear from someone who has owned the phone, or still does own the phone.
Not someone who played with it on some kiosk at Best Buy or the ATT store. Those phones have been abused and can hardly be used to judge a brand new handset.

I'm not familiar with the LG Vu. If you can wait a few months, there is some new touchscreen phones hitting the US market. The samsung omnia (i900), should be coming to at&t in the next few months. It has already been release overseas. Also, the SE Experia is scheduled sometime before the end of the year. I haven't heard what carrier it will be on.
I currently have a 8125 with at&t, it is on it's last leg. I just hope it lasts long enough for one of these new phones to get here. I was going to make the switch to the iphone, but it just won't do what I need it too.

I have the 920.

I like it. I never used a touchscreen phone before and I find it very fun.

since I have nothing to compare it to, I feel it is a great phone.

Is the touchscreen pretty responsive? I have read and heard a lot of reviews on the phone, and the people who disliked the phone always mentioned that the touchscreen is not very responsive. Then they usually follow it up with an "iPhone is my God" quote.

I have not used the Vu but I have used the LG Dare, which is Verizon's version of the VU. I like it, once you calibrate the screen to your touch it is pretty responsive. The phone is relatively quick and easy to use. I absolutely love LG, I think they make the best cell phones. I currently moved to the new iphone from an LG CU500 (the best phone I have ever owned) and I plan to return the iphone for a BB Bold. But, when I am looking for regular style cell phones (not PDA/smart phones) all i look at is LG, I dont even bother looking at any other makers.

I ended up taking my Vu back. It does not support pop3 nor can it sync with your pc to transfer contacts and my calendar. No gmail either.
The screen began to warp after a few days, although this may be normal with touchscreen phones. It was a neat phone, but neat eventually wears off.
I replaced it with a Sony Ericsson w760i.

I have the Vu CU920 which is the TV capable phone. I enjoy the phone as much as any other one I've had. I switched just recently from Verizon to AT&T when this phone became available, so I have been using the phone for at least 3 months or so.

The touch screen takes some getting used to. It has a feature that can be turned off, that causes the phone to vibrate whenever the screen is touched. The intensity can be adjusted as well. I find it pretty useful when typing or dialing. I do a lot of texting so the on-screen keyboard can be switched to a full QWERTY from the default alpha/numeric keyboard. I wish it allowed you to set it as the default, but hopefully, it becomes an option in a firmware upgrade. Typing can be a pain sometimes if you are not paying attention. I am used to a qwerty keyboard on the LG Env i had previously and was able to type really fast. With the VU, I sometimes miss and hit the wrong letters.

The phone is customizable when it comes to ringtones and background screens. You definitely need to get a memory card for it, as you can also download applications for it, take pictures, etc. I've used Google maps on it, however, the software wasn't really designed for a touchscreen phone. Also some functionality is lost because this phone doesn't have GPS. I haven't had a chance to test the 3G capabilities of the phone yet since it's not available in our area. Basically, it's a good all-around phone. The sound quality is good. I have no reception or dropped call problems, and it has decent battery life, but I do plug it in almost every night to be safe.

Hope that helps.
