LGA 1155 cpu and video

Building a system for brother. Havent built a system for a while. My system is old Quad core Q6600. It appears the video is built into the CPU chip itself on LGS 1155 cpu's. ? The motherboard iam thinking about has no video chip but it has a sub D connector so iam guessing no video card is needed as the CPU itself puts video to the sub-D connector on motherbvoard?? . Correct?
Proceesor iam looking at is intel G30 2.7 sandy bridge the mother board an asus P8H61-M LGA 1155 intel H61

So no video card is required, just want to make sure this is correct. Thanks.

I assume you meant to say the G630. Yes the CPU provides video, and yes it works with that mobo.

No, you don't want to use the D-Sub port. Use the DVI.

You can use either the DVI or the Sub D Connector.

Ok thats what i thought but wasnt sure. Seems strange to have video done by cpu but as long as it works ok then that saves me money.

It works great for general use including watching videos and playing Flash games. It's even good enough for old 3D games like Half Life 2.

If he wants to play any modern games then you do need a real video card (and a faster CPU). Ask us about that if he does need to game.

Not a gamer but needs to edit video with Sony Vegas editing software. I also gave him the option of a quad core instead of the dual core with same Asus motherboard. Right now he uses a single core 2.4 so even the dual core will be quite an improvement. Up to him if he wants to spend an extra $110

The CPU video is fine for video editing, so no extra video card is needed.
