does anybody have any experience with any of these lga 775 heat sinks?
http://www.coolerguys.com/sockettlga775.html

my prescott is out of control hot 60 degrees idle 80 degrees under full load with stock cooling not overclocked
everything is installed correctly but my motherboard could possibly be reading these values high my system temperature is 33 degrees so i'm pretty sure i have adequate case fans just need a new cpu heat sink should i wait for a thermalright? would one of those thermaltake ones do the job? oh i'm not planning on overclocking at all unless i can get the heat down significantly

There aren't many LGA 775 heatsinks that I can find, and the ones listed in your links either look like toys of in the case of the TT coolers, don't review all that well. You might want to wait for a broader selection from companies like Thermalright or Swiftech, before porking out. Are you having failures and/or other heat related problems?

Also, if you are looking for a quiet one I highly suggest waiting for Zalman's next generation flower shaped coolers like the 7000 series.

Zalman just announced Clip support for the 7000 series of coolers. I haven't seen it for sale yet but should be around soon, I'd defiantly wait for this and stay away from thermaltake.

I have the Thermaltake Silent tower and it works perfectly fine for me. Def better and a hell of a lot quieter then the Jungle 512. If you have the room, and you need a HS/fan right now, I would get that.

I think that the XP-120 is too big for that bracket. Atleast it looks like it from the pictures. That HS looks massive and is all aluminum. Anyways, like I said, if you really need one right now, get th Thermaltake Silent tower. It works great. Or else I would wait for the Zalman.

Yeah - same problem here - llooking for decent LGA775 cooling but dont see much around. I think I will buy the ThermalRight retention bracket and use a Zalman 7000 for now.

I have the thermalright retention bracket installed with a XP-120. No problems on my ASUS p5ad2, it fits like a charm
