I bought a Lian 60 USB and it pretty much sucks compared to my SX1030's..As far as keeping everything cool.I'm running 20 degrees hotter with this than the sx1030.Thats with the 3-80mm adda fans on high..case closed and under a full load.I'm running an Enermax 351 PS.I have a 1.4 tbird in it know.My XP1800 doesn't run quite as hot but it's definately hotter in the Lian than the sx1030 case.Any suggestions??I'm not OC'ing at the moment..I tried reseating the hs/fan and putting on a thin coat of ASII but it's still running hot!!!The front filter is also clean..so there is no restriction there.

My machine is actually cooler in the Lian Li PC60 case than it was in my old generic case because the Lian Li is less cramped and has three pretty decent 80mm fans.

20 degrees sounds like a huge increase - you say that you've reseated the HSF and apply new thermal paste? I'd try it again.

I guess the cables are not restricting airflow inside?

Compare your board/system tempreature, not the CPU tempreature. There are too many variables involved when comparing CPU temps inside differnt cases. It's more accurate to compare system temp instead.

Curtis- Great case! I just picked one up last week. My overall temps dropped over 12 degrees after moving to the new case. Not sure what the problem could be, but don't give up on it! BTW- I am using an Enermax 350w Power supply and an Athlon XP 1700+.

Alright,
I removed the hs/fan..put my XP 1800+ back in,applied a thin layer of ASII and it's still reading kinda high IMO..this is with the fans on high, side panels on and under full load..running seti in the background also which makes it go up pretty much on it's own!!
Here's a screenshot........notice the big difference between the cpu temp and the mobo temp's.I would think this fop32 w/ delta would cool this chip better than that??

Wonder if I need a better hs/fan??any suggestions??

Thanks!

If you remove the side panel and the cpu temp still stays the same. It's not the cases fault. I have the same case with Xp1700and a GC68 and my temp difference between the CPU and System is only about 10-13C

Touch the heatsink. Is it hot ??? if it's not then the heatsink is not making a good contact.

Also under very heavy, heavy load, 50C is not that bad. My normal temp while surfing and listening to music is about 43 and I can only push the temp to 50C when i run sisoft's burn-in program for a long time.

ShinSa,
When I took the side panel off here about 15 minutes ago it was at 127.8.now with the side panel off it's at 120.0..So it's gotta be that damn HS/FAN??I'm gonna take the one off my daughters pc tomorrow and try it..it's alot quieter anyhow

thanks all!

EDIT:
Not hot at all...

I have more or less the same setup as yours, I'm running my machine in an Lian Li PC60 case, the CPU is an Athlon TB 1.4@1.53 with a FOP32 HSF. My CPU temps never go above 43 degrees.

I think there must be something wrong either with your HSF or with the way its mounted. Before you re-applied the thermal paste did you clean the old stuff off the CPU die first with rubbing alcohol?

How dare you blame it on the case Looking at your screenshot, with a case temp of 23 degrees, It's gotta be your HSF. Oh by the way, I have to leave the rear case fans on this sx1030 unplugged - they sound like an '86 Tempo with no exhaust. Otherwise this case rocks.

Alrighty guys,
It was the hs/fan...must not been a very good fit for the XP.I put a POS Coolermaster on there and it's running @ 45c/114.6F...This is under load with the side panel on.But get this I put the FOP32 w/ delta back on my little girls 1.2 tbird rig which has the Antec SX1030 and it's showing the temps in hers now @93.0 :Q :Q

Things that make you go hmmmm
