I have had this case through a few upgrades now, and it has always been a pretty hot environment. With my latest upgrade I purchased an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro HSF and that has helped (running anywhere from 38c to 52c idle, as temps fluctuate quite a bit in my house) but I am still wanting it cooler so I can OC the thing a bit.. I mean I probably will anyway, even if I dont get it cooler, but I think another fan would help.. It only has one 80mm fan blowing out the back, and that vent has the case holes that slow it down too..

I don't want to buy a new case, so I probably need to put a hole in the side door window and put a fan in there... So if anybody could point me to a good tutorial, I'd appreciate it.. I imagine I can figure it out, but pointers would be nice too...

Also, are there maybe vendors out there that would sell just the side door for a lian li case that has a fan/fan hole in it?

Performance PCs can give you a replacement door for that Lian Li customized with a 120mm side fan.

replace the 120mm fans with 120mmx38mm HIGH SPEED (3000RPM) Delta/Panaflo/Sanyo fans. they get some real good airflow. then get a cheap Sunbeam Rheobus to control them when the high speeds aren't necessary (when you're trying to get some sleep)

One of the best things to do to reduce temps is to ensure there is negative air pressure in the case... ie: There are more fans venting air out of the case than there are pulling in. This drops the cases's internal ambient temp, which in turn means colder air is getting used by your CPU HSF, which in turn drops CPU temps.

which one is better, positive flow (more cool air going inside) or negative flow (more hot air pushed outside)?

speculation aside, TP, wanna try what I did to my PC-60?
add a second 80mm rear hole + 80mm panaflo l1 (I replaced all stock fans with panaflo, god, I hate noisy fans!)
clear the original 80mm rear hole to make one big hole instead of that with slots.

I actually removed the top fan and closed the hole. It doesn't make any difference in temperature and the escaping noise is kinda annoying.
