Lian Li PC-Q08 build idea....

So after doing a lot more research, I realized I didn't need a ton of extra hard drive and PCI slots in my computer.

So... keeping it simple/small. Please let me know if I've made an error or if you have tips/advice.

Seems decent, but I have 2 concerns:
(a) Will a 5870 even fit in that case? I'm going to go with no because the card is only 3" shorter than the overall length of the case and that HDD cage is in the way. You might want to look at a shorter card like the GTX 460 (a Newegg reviewer got it to fit).
(b) That Corsair RAM seems to cost a bit much for 4GB of 1.65V DDR3 1600. This G.Skill is $10 cheaper and will run at 1.5V

A). Those hard drive bays are designed to be easily removed. I'm definitely going to have to remove the bottom bay, but it will fit. I currently don't have an internal hard drive planned as I have several external ones, but I think I can still use the top hard drive bay. Only reason I'm hesitant to go through with it... is because it would be a really tight fit with a standard PSU as I'd have to bend the cables at really tight angles.

B). Thanks! I'll be swapping out the Dominators for those G. Skill! (I don't know much about ram... just figured a company wouldn't name somethign Dominators if it sucked lol)

According to this review that case can fit up to a GTX480. So I would guess a 5870 would be ok?

Edit, the 5 minutes of research I did shows the 5870 can be up to a 1/2" longer then the 480. So you may want to confirm it will fit.

Also, any reason you are using Tigerdirect? The i5 760 is at Newegg.

According to this article, the H50 won't fit in the mITX board without modification to the H50's bottom mount (see this post on oc.net forum). Just in case you didnt know yet.

Ya, the 5870 will fit. I just have to remove the lower hard drive bays. I believe I've seen a build featuring one earlier. I've heard the 5870 weighing between 10 3/4" and 11"... but the PC-Q08 can hold 300mm which is roughly 12 inches.

Reason I'm using TigerDirect is due to Bing's cashback program. There's only a $30 difference or so between the 760 and 870... I figured I may want hyperthreading for encoding some day. (Hyperthreading doesn't raise the CPU's operating temp, right?)

Thanks SOSTrooper. There's a guy on youtube who explained having to mount a slim fan instead of the H50's fan to fit between the radiator and psu. And I plan on slicing some of the bracket off the backplate and then tackling it with a file for more precision.
