It depends on your motherboard, how close the CPU socket is situated to the edge of the motherboard, and how much clearance there is between the edge of the motherboard and that divider-panel on the V1000.

I thought somebody said they had to use a Dremel to get an XP120 to fit in this thing, but I cannot be absolutely sure. If that IS the situation, however, you have a choice in conjunction with this beautiful (new??) case -- "to Dremel or not to Dremel -- that is the question."

Or, you could choose an alternate heatpipe cooler model, such as the XP 90. But that is not going to allow you to easily use a 120mm fan for the CPU.

I would never dremel my 270 dollar case. I know the Asus K8T800 motherboard will fit the XP120, but the V1000 won't. The XP120 is a nice little beast, but not nice enough to base everything you buy around it. Settle with the smaller XP90, which fits all motherboards and all cases, and you'll be just as happy.

Any update? I picked up the A8N-SLI, which the XP-120 supposedly fits on according to the companies chart. I am about ready to order the 1000 and the XP-120 from Newegg, but it would be nice if I don't have to be the GP. I am not willing to cut up the case, so I would pick up a 1200 if I have to.

Consider the PCV1200 instead. Its deeper which means:

- More room for cooling and making cabling neater
- Much deeper chamber for power supplies so the OCZ series and other 500+ wattters will fit SLI eats power.
- Only $10 more

I've got the XP-120/A8N-Sli in there without problems.

Great case for cooling but the little holes let all noise out so choose fans etc carefully.

The V1100 is a very quiet case. Probably partially due to the front door, and partially to do with the lack of the mess of holes that cover the front and rear of the case. The V1100 also has sound dampening material pre-installed on both side panels and the top of the case to cut down on noise... I believe it's deeper than the V1000 as well, but not quiet as deep as the V1200...

Good points, I initially was going to go with the OCZ Modstream, but that only includes one 6 pin, and I am going to be running SLI, so I'd have an adapter, and same thing for all of my SATA drives. So I figured adding a bunch of adapters to the ends sort of defeats the purpose of a modular system when extra cables are not available yet (if ever).

I am going to see what a custom configured PS from PC power & cooling will be to my specs, I just hate having to zip tie masses of cables throughout the case.
