They're selling them for $160 here (phone: (714) 666 8988). You can read a review about the case here. It's very stylish and nice. Yes, it is expensive and doesn't come with a power supply. They're hard to find in the US. I could only find one other dealer, the Chip Merchant which sells it for $220 ($250 msrp). Other Australian sites sell it for ~230USD.

All in all it came out to $176 shipped. Talked to a nice guy named Johnson who took my order.

humm..... A full tower with lots of room, 6 fan spaces and a 300 W power supply for 44.53 + shiping or a small mid-tower that doesn't come with a power supply... i'd choose the former.

I'll take a Quantum 7200 RPM 30 GB Harddrive with the saved cash, or 128 more MB of RAM.

Don't think this belongs in the HotDeals forum....

Anyhoo...I remember seeing an outfit that you send any/all your computer components to and they will custom build and carve teak (spelling?) wood to make pannels.

Figure about $5000 for monitor and computer case panels.

Would this qualify for a "hot deal?"

Oh, but let's not ignore the fact that this thing is "stylish". Who cares if you can pick up a 60 gig HD or a nice stick of 128 meg RAM for the price? It has pinache!

There's a small audience out there who're interested in aluminum cases. If those people are willing to fork over the extra $$$, then this will be a hot deal for them. But I'm not one of them.

Bah, shoulda known that people don't care for the aluminum case here. It is a good deal for those who want one. I personally like this one better than the coolermaster aluminum cases. I was gonna get a regular case, the sx830 from onvia, but then I figured it just looked way too ugly and I liked the fact that this pc60 is a lot lighter.

Anyhow, you're talking to a guy who'd fork over the extra $$ for a well made Armani suit over some regular suit. To each his own.

If I had to lug my full tower under my arm every day, I guess I could see this as a hot deal.
Since this guy is Herve Villechaize ("da plane, da plane" from Fantasy Island for the youngsters)(refer to profile Profile Here and especially since I have nothing better to do at the moment), maybe the $100 for a 5 lb. weight reduction really does seem like a hot deal.

Of course, I could stamp a giant Armani, Porsche or Gucci logo on the front and then I know I'd impress everyone.
Just think of the chicks that I could get then.

Rock on Mikee.

In reality, I'm sure they are nice cases, but I don't see how the fact that the case is aluminum and lightweight, rather than tin or steel really makes a difference for a tower case. For a rack, maybe. I don't see the benefit at that much of a premium.

BTW, Is it just me or does linking seem like a real bitch with the new BBS software. Trial and error all the way. I've got to read the tutorial each time just to get it right, sheesh.

Hmm, never really checked out Ars' forums. Looks like people like this case over there even though they've been paying $230+.

Anyhow, I'm pretty psyched to get this case. Amonng other things it looks cool, heat dissipation is better with aluminum, and it has great build quality from looking at all the pictures and reading the review. I figure cases last around 5 years - longer than any other component. So what's the big deal with spending $50-100 more dollars than I would have otherwise. Well, that's just the way I justified it.

mofo888, i'll concede the mofo, but not the handsome part!
